On the afternoon of December 16, the Ministry of Education and Training held a ceremony to honor students who won prizes in the 2023 International Science and Technology Olympiads.
Reviewing the achievements, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Ha - Deputy Director of the Department of Quality Management (Ministry of Education and Training) said that in 2023, Vietnam will send 7 delegations of excellent students (36 students) to participate in regional and international Olympic competitions, including: 1 Informatics delegation to participate in the Asia-Pacific Olympic region, 1 Physics delegation to participate in the Asian Olympic region and 5 delegations to participate in the international Olympics: Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Physics and Informatics.
Total achieved 8 gold medals, 12 silver medals, 12 bronze medals and 4 certificates of merit.
Vietnamese student teams continue to be in the top 10 countries with the highest results. Many Vietnamese students achieved the highest scores.

At the 2023 International Science and Technology Competition, the Vietnamese delegation had 1 project that won the official prize and 1 project that won the special prize awarded by the US Agency for International Development with a prize value of 2,000 USD.
Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Ha emphasized that the results of the 2023 International Olympic and Science and Technology teams affirm the efforts of students, under the guidance of teachers throughout the learning process. This is also the result of the innovation of the education sector in selecting and training national teams to participate in regional and international Olympic competitions according to the requirements of fundamental and comprehensive innovation in education and training.
In order to honor and commend the achievements of teachers and students in the 2023 International Science and Technology Olympiads, the Minister of Education and Training decided to award certificates of merit to 5 students who won medals in the Asia-Pacific Olympiad.
16 students who won gold and silver medals in the 2023 International Olympic competitions received the First, Second and Third Class Labor Medals from the President.
Specifically, students who won gold medals at the International Olympiads for two consecutive years received the First Class Labor Medal. Six students who won one gold medal received the Second Class Labor Medal and eight students who won silver medals received the Third Class Labor Medal. The remaining nine students who won bronze medals were awarded certificates of merit by the Prime Minister.
