By the end of October 2023, Ha Tinh's export turnover reached more than 2.28 billion USD, an increase of 60.2% over the same period last year and reaching 114% of this year's plan.

The export turnover of Formosa Ha Tinh Iron and Steel Corporation accounts for over 90% of the total export turnover of the province.

In October 2023, Ha Tinh's export activities received positive signals when the turnover reached 182.6 million USD, up 4.5% compared to the previous month and up nearly 45% compared to the same period last year. Exports from Formosa Ha Tinh Iron and Steel Corporation alone reached more than 172.7 million USD (accounting for 94.59% of export turnover), up 6.2% compared to the previous month and up to 60.8% compared to the same period.

In general, in recent months, the province's export turnover has recorded a good growth. Accumulated from the beginning of the year to the end of October 2023, the export turnover reached more than 2.28 billion USD, an increase of 60.2% over the same period last year. Export items of steel and steel billets increased by 70.5%, tea increased by nearly 2% over the same period. Textiles and garments have recently faced difficulties, but overall from the beginning of the year until now, the export turnover has still increased by more than 2%.

In the first 10 months of 2023, Ha Tinh Tea Joint Stock Company exported more than 1,740 tons of dry tea.

According to a representative of Ha Tinh Tea Joint Stock Company, the company's main markets are Middle Eastern countries such as Afghanistan, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia... In 10 months, the company has exported more than 1,740 tons of dry tea, with an export turnover of more than 4 million USD. With less than 2 months left until the end of 2023, while the export plan is 2,300 tons of tea, the unit is accelerating to achieve the highest possible results.

In addition to the items with growth, in the 10 months, the export turnover of many groups of goods decreased sharply compared to the same period, such as: textile fibers (down 19.3%); wood chips (down 14.8%); seafood (down 10.8%). The main reason is the impact of the global economic recession, leading to a decrease in orders and product prices.

Mr. Vo Ta Nghia - Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade said: In 2022, the world steel market decreased, so the steel output and steel billet inventory were high. In 2023, consumption was more positive, so the export of steel products and steel billets increased sharply compared to the same period last year. The export turnover of Formosa Ha Tinh Iron and Steel Corporation accounted for more than 90% of the total export turnover of the whole province. Therefore, although some export items were difficult, the export turnover accounted for a small part, so it did not have a big impact on the total export turnover. Thanks to that, the export turnover of the province still grew significantly.

The garment export industry is currently facing difficulties due to a sharp decline in orders.

To date, the province's export turnover has reached 114% of the 2023 plan (2 billion USD plan). According to the Department of Industry and Trade's calculations, the export turnover for the whole year is expected to reach about 2.4 billion USD, reaching 120% of the plan.

In the last months of the year, businesses are making efforts to produce, trade, and promote export activities to achieve the best results.

Mr. Le Huu Son - Chief Accountant of HANVIHA Forestry and Paper Materials Production Company (Vung Ang Economic Zone) said: "In the first half of 2023, the wood chip industry faced many difficulties due to a narrowing market and sharp decline in product prices. From June until now, the market and prices have stabilized again, so wood chip export activities have also improved. In 10 months, the company exported about 110,000 tons of wood chips, with an export turnover of 16 million USD, equivalent to the same period last year. Currently, the company is making efforts to overcome difficulties and ensure the source of goods to achieve the export target of 150,000 tons of wood chips as planned."
