10 outstanding events of Mong Cai City in 2024

In 2024, in the context of many difficulties and challenges, the Party Committee, government, and people of all ethnic groups in Mong Cai City, with the aspiration for innovation for the purpose of development, have promoted the spirit of solidarity, unity, successfully overcoming difficulties, and comprehensively completing the goals, targets, tasks, and working themes of the year "Completing planning, improving the quality of economic growth; developing culture and people rich in Mong Cai identity" with 10 typical and outstanding events.

1. The work of building and rectifying the Party and the political system has received special attention, achieving many positive results: The city has made remarkable progress in developing new party members, admitting 287 party members, reaching 6.3% of the total number at the beginning of the year, exceeding 59.4% of the planned target; successfully organizing the City Fatherland Front Congress for the 2024-2029 term.

4. The number of tourists to the city reached an all-time high: In 2024, it will reach over 4 million visitors (of which foreign visitors will reach 1,484,038), affirming its role as a key economic sector, making an important contribution to the city's development.

5. Being a locality with high revenue in the leading group of the whole province: In 2024, it will reach 5,156.4 billion VND (of which: Domestic revenue is 1,713 billion VND, reaching 149% of the provincial estimate; revenue from the Customs sector is 2,355 billion VND, reaching 146.7% of the estimate, up 40% over the same period).

6. Focus on developing culture and people with rich Mong Cai identity, improving the quality of healthcare and education, ensuring social security, taking care of people's lives; the city has no more poor or near-poor households; average income per capita increases; spreading the spirit of sharing, helping people overcome the consequences of storm No. 3 Yagi, being the locality that mobilizes high support resources in the "Top" of the whole province.

9. Foreign affairs and integration achieved important results: Foreign affairs and people's diplomacy activities between the two localities of Mong Cai (Vietnam) and Dongxing (China) gradually became a "model" between the two localities on the Vietnam - China border; Mong Cai received the award "Excellent partner of friendship city towards China".

10. Up to now, the city has completed 20/20 targets set by the Resolution of the 24th City Party Congress, term 2020-2025 (reaching the finish line nearly 1 year early, including 7 targets exceeded); internal solidarity in will and action; building and creating social consensus, unity between "Party's will - people's heart"; spreading the aspiration to innovate and develop the city.
