Speaking at the conference, Major General Tran Van Tho, Commander of Coast Guard Region 1, said: Starting from 2025, the Regional Commands will coordinate with provinces and cities to deploy working delegations including leaders and armed forces of localities to survey and grasp the situation in coastal seas and islands. This is the first working trip organized by Coast Guard Region 1 Command for localities to survey. In 2025, Coast Guard Region 1 Command will organize another working trip in June for the following localities: Quang Binh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh.

Major General Tran Van Tho emphasized that the working trip aimed to bring the local delegations to survey and grasp the situation of coastal areas and islands. To build and strengthen the close relationship between the military and the people; solidarity between the Vietnam Coast Guard in general, the Coast Guard Region 1 Command in particular, and the Party committees, authorities and people of coastal localities.  

As planned, the working trip will last for 5 days (from April 11 to April 15). The delegation will survey and grasp the implementation of socio-economic development projects, ensure national security, order and safety at sea, develop the marine economy and prevent and combat illegal fishing (IUU). The survey will serve the propaganda work of protecting the sea and islands and directly propagate the prevention and combat of IUU fishing (visit, give gifts, and directly propagate to Vietnamese fishing vessels in localities where delegates participate).

Conducting incense offering ceremony to commemorate the heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the Gulf of Tonkin. Organizing mass mobilization activities on the island such as: Meeting and paying courtesy visits to local Party committees and authorities on the island; offering incense to Uncle Ho's statue and martyrs' cemetery; visiting and giving gifts to families with meritorious services, fishermen, and students in difficult circumstances.
