1 resident in Kon Tum hospitalized after being struck by lightning

On April 17, the People's Committee of Dak Sao commune said that the locality had just visited, encouraged and supported the family of Mr. A Lang (residing in Kach Nho 2 village, Dak Sao commune) who was struck by lightning.

According to the Dak Sao Commune People's Committee, at around 2:30 p.m. on April 16, a heavy rainstorm suddenly occurred in the commune accompanied by severe lightning. At that time, Mr. A Lang and 4 family members were sitting in the house when suddenly a lightning bolt struck, causing severe head trauma to Mr. A Lang, causing him to bleed profusely.

Immediately afterwards, his family quickly took Mr. A Lang to Dak Sao Commune Health Station for first aid. However, due to the seriousness of his injuries, he was immediately transferred to Kon Tum Provincial General Hospital for emergency care and intensive treatment.

By the morning of April 17, Kon Tum Provincial General Hospital said that Mr. A Lang's health condition had stabilized and his injuries were no longer life-threatening.

Mr. Nguyen Van Ben - Chairman of Dak Sao Commune People's Committee said that as soon as receiving the information, the commune visited the family's house to encourage them, and at the same time provided financial support to help the family reduce economic difficulties.

In addition, local authorities also recommend that people be cautious and proactive in taking preventive measures when there is heavy rain and thunderstorms to ensure safety for themselves and their families.

Previously, on the afternoon of April 14, in Kon Tum province, a lightning strike also occurred, killing 1 person and injuring 6 others.
