Leaders of the Provincial Women's Union and the Provincial Police presented gifts to children in especially difficult circumstances.
Implementing the Plan of the Standing Committee of the Women's Union of the Ministry of Public Security on implementing the "Godmother" Program launched by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union, with the aim of mobilizing cadres, women's union members and organizations and individuals to sponsor, support, care for and raise orphans due to the Covid-19 pandemic and orphans due to other reasons with especially difficult circumstances, creating conditions for them to develop fully and comprehensively, the Women's Union of the Public Security at all levels in Yen Bai province has developed a specific plan for implementation, and at the same time coordinated with local authorities, commune-level police, Women's Unions of communes, towns, and schools to review cases of orphans and children with especially difficult circumstances in the whole province, to sponsor, support care and raise.
Up to now, after more than 1 year of implementation, in Yen Bai province, 47 children have been sponsored and cared for until they are 18 years old with an average monthly support of 300,000 VND/child. In addition, members of the Provincial Police Women's Union at all levels have also voluntarily deducted a portion of their salary, and at the same time called on charitable organizations and philanthropists to join hands in donating and supporting the purchase of books, school supplies, and living supplies to give to orphans in especially difficult circumstances with a total cost of over 500 million VND. Thanks to the timely encouragement of the "Godmothers", many children have strived to overcome their circumstances and achieved high results in excellent student competitions at all levels.
Leaders of the Provincial Police and the Women's Union of Yen Bai Provincial Police presented flowers to congratulate the children of officers and soldiers on their high achievements in studying.
Comrade Nguyen Thi Bich Nhiem - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Women's Union of Yen Bai province, Colonel Le Thi Thanh Hang - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Deputy Director of the Yen Bai Provincial Police, hoped that in the coming time, the Women's Union at all levels in the Provincial Police will continue to spread the "Godmother" program more widely and have more meaningful and practical models and activities, not only among Women's Union members but also among all officers and soldiers in the Provincial Police so that more people in difficult circumstances can be helped to rise up in life.
The "Godmother" program was launched by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union at the end of 2021. The program has practical significance for female cadres and members to sponsor, support care and nurture orphans affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, creating motivation and helping orphans have more support in their journey of growing up and maturing. This is one of the activities carried out by the Women's Union of the Bac Lieu Provincial Police, bringing many practical effects, with profound humanistic meaning.
