About 30 original artworks recreate the journey through time of Da Nang and Hoi An

The exhibition consists of 30 paintings depicting the journey from the past, present to the future of Da Nang and Hoi An, taking art lovers on a time travel, from the 17th to the 22nd century. Accordingly, Vietnam in the 17th - 18th centuries stands out with images of trade activities with Europe and Korea, followed by adventurous ships to southern Chile in the 19th century, and then the departure of the French in the 20th century...

All historical milestones are vividly and artistically depicted through Bensley’s unique style. Not only recreating the past, the exhibition also opens up a perspective 100 years into the future, with the image of a temple in Da Nang designed by artificial intelligence, along with the author’s bold predictions about fashion.

Visitors will have the opportunity to own works of art by Bill Bensley, with all proceeds going to charities, including the Shinta Mani Foundation, which Bill Bensley co-founded and is the largest supporter. Before the official opening of the exhibition, Bill Bensley will give an intimate talk, called "Bill Bensley's Painting Lecture" at the resort's Moulin Rouge (karaoke area) on February 9 (30th of Lunar New Year).

"We are honored to host this unique exhibition, which celebrates Vietnamese history through the lens and painting style of Bill Bensley. InterContinental Danang always strives to bring visitors unique, original experiences imbued with Vietnamese culture. From there, convey the message about the beauty of Vietnamese culture," said Mr. Seif Hamdy, General Director of the Resort.

InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort is the architectural project that brought Bill Bensley's name to international stature.

Nestled in 39 hectares of lush tropical forest, comprising four floors - Paradise, Sky, Earth and Sea - connected by the Nam Tram cable system leading down to a stunning 700m private beach, InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort is the architectural project that brought Bill Bensley's name to international stature.

Before designing the InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort, world-renowned architect Bill Bensley spent a lot of time and effort to learn about the history, culture and unique architecture of Vietnam. During his time traveling across the three regions from North to South, Bill Bensley was truly impressed with the architecture of the Hue royal palace. The successive courtyards, the thick stone walls guarded by tall towers overwhelmed him. The master craftsmen of the 18th century created a diverse space exclusively for kings. This was also an endless source of inspiration that he applied to his first project in the S-shaped country.
