Recently, images of the mascot of the Year of the Dragon 2024 have attracted the attention of people across the country. Many localities have erected dragons to welcome the new year with a variety of shapes, sizes, colors, etc.

In Vinh city, Nghe An, the city government planned to erect a dragon mascot at the art flower garden on Ho Tung Mau street on December 27. However, earlier than expected, on the evening of February 4, 2024 (December 25), the dragon mascot was assembled by a team of workers, attracting the attention of many people.

According to observations, the dragon mascot in Nghe An is quite large in size, with a dragon body length of nearly 30 meters, a height of 5.3 meters, a width of 3 meters, a decorative length of about 5 meters, curled into many circles. The total weight of the dragon body is estimated at 2 - 3 tons. The dragon was jointly made by artisans, designers and craftsmen in Nghe An.

The entire body of the dragon is decorated with lights, glowing at night, and the dragon's mouth holds a bright pearl. This dragon mascot is inspired by the image of a dragon holding a pearl, curled up, hiding in the clouds.
This is a symbol of perseverance, confidence and waiting for luck without losing modesty. The layers of fresh flowers covering the dragon's body like clouds, both increase the artistry and create the scene of the dragon flying to the sky.

It is known that to build this dragon mascot, workers of Vinh City Green Park Joint Stock Company worked continuously from the evening of February 4 to 2:00 a.m. on February 5 to complete it, including many stages of transportation, modeling, installation of decorative lights...

Once completed, the dragon mascot at the art flower garden is expected to be a highlight in the Tet decoration painting in Vinh city; contributing to tourism development, serving people and tourists to enjoy Tet and welcome Spring.

Previously, people across the country talked a lot about the "dragon mascot" made of bonsai trees at the intersection of Nguyen Sy Sach Street and Le Nin Avenue, running along the North Canal of Vinh City. However, according to city authorities, those "bonsai dragons" have existed for decades, not newly erected to welcome the New Year. In the city, there are also about 4 pairs of bonsai dragons in other parks and streets./.
