Promoting OCOP agricultural products to link with local tourism development in Soc Son

The Fair to promote OCOP agricultural products (One Commune One Product) associated with promoting local tourism in Soc Son district is an event directed by the Hanoi People's Committee, assigned to the City Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center to preside over, coordinate with the Soc Son District People's Committee and related units to organize at the auction area of ​​Duoc Thuong village, Tien Duoc commune, Soc Son district, Hanoi city.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Bui Duy Quang, Deputy Director of the Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion of Hanoi City, said: Soc Son is a land with a long history, preserving many cultural relics associated with traditional festivals. With the strength of being favored by nature and the diversity of cultural identities of the region, Soc Son district is planned to become one of the key tourist attractions attracting visitors from the capital and neighboring provinces with famous scenic spots such as: Soc Mountain, Doi Mountain, Dong Quan Lake, Dong Do Lake, etc.

“ Implementing the OCOP Program, Soc Son district has had 97 products evaluated and classified by the Hanoi People's Committee as 3 stars or higher. The products recognized by the city as OCOP are products with quality and economic value, and have established a position and reputation in the market, ” Mr. Bui Duy Quang emphasized.

With the above strengths, in recent years, the Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion has coordinated with the People's Committee of Soc Son district to organize trade promotion programs to promote OCOP agricultural products associated with promoting local tourism.

The Fair has more than 100 booths of 50 units and enterprises from nearly 20 provinces and cities nationwide participating and common spaces displaying and introducing typical, outstanding products from localities. Some famous agricultural specialties include: Thai Nguyen tea, Dien Bien rice, Muong Khuong chili sauce, Ha Giang oranges, smoked buffalo meat and many typical agricultural products for Tet holiday are all present at the Fair. In particular, the Fair has coordinated with Soc Son district to promote traditional craft village products (Duc Dong craft village, rattan and bamboo weaving, embroidery ...), thereby contributing to promoting the local economy and culture.

In addition to trade promotion activities, the Fair also organizes product demonstration spaces, traditional cultural activities, and tourism promotion activities, combined with brilliant flower colors in the "Flower Market, Tet Market in Soc Son District" to bring unforgettable experiences and impressions to visitors when Tet comes and Spring returns.

The fair is an opportunity for participating units to widely promote their brands and products to visitors and consumers in the capital, thereby contributing to enhancing brand value, preserving traditional craft villages, diversifying OCOP products associated with local tourism, preserving the space of the village community, cultural traditions, tourism and products of natural origin. This is also an opportunity for the government and people of Soc Son district to promote the potential of agriculture, OCOP products; tourism products, and traditional culture of the locality.
