According to the leader of Hai Phong City Customs Department, in January 2025, the total import-export turnover of Hai Phong City reached more than 9,649 million USD, down 16.81% compared to December 2024 and down 6.4% compared to the same period in 2024.

Specifically, export turnover was over 4,960 million USD, down 15.36% compared to December 2024, down 4.6% compared to the same period in 2024; of which taxed export turnover reached 20.03 million USD, down 32.61% compared to December, down 59.8% compared to the same period in 2024. Import turnover reached over 4,688 million USD, down 18.29% compared to December 2024, down 8.2% compared to the same period in 2024; of which taxed import turnover reached 1,823.53 million USD, down 24.85% compared to December, down 3.6% compared to the same period in 2024.
Compared to the same period in 2024, the import turnover with tax for 7 items including automobiles of all kinds, automobile spare parts, motorbikes, motorbike spare parts, beer, alcohol, cosmetics and machinery and equipment all increased; 2 taxable import items, gasoline and iron and steel, decreased.

In January 2025, the total number of import and export declarations processed at the branches and affiliated departments of Hai Phong City Customs Department reached nearly 216 thousand declarations (down 4.04% compared to the same period in 2024, down 17.75% compared to December 2024), of which the total number of import declarations was 113,558 declarations, the total number of export declarations was 102,439 declarations.
The branch with the largest number of import-export declarations is the Hai Phong Export Processing Zone and Industrial Zone Customs Branch, with more than 52 thousand declarations, the branch with the smallest number of import-export declarations is the Hai Phong Port Customs Branch, Region 1, with more than 3,700 declarations. Regarding the rate of import-export declaration classification, the green channel is 65.6%, the yellow channel is 32.2%, the red channel is 2.2%.
