(Chinhphu.vn) - On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), the T3 passenger terminal of Tan Son Nhat airport - a key symbolic project of Ho Chi Minh City was officially completed and put into operation, marking a strong transformation in urban transport infrastructure.

Passenger terminal T3 is built with a scale of 1 basement and 4 floors above ground, with a total floor area of ​​up to 112,500m².

Tan Son Nhat International Airport plans to hold the inauguration ceremony of Terminal T3 on the occasion of the April 30 anniversary and put it into operation right after the peak period of the April 30 - May 1 holidays.

With a modern design and a synchronously invested system of roads and overpasses, Terminal T3 will handle nearly 80% of all domestic flights arriving and departing at Tan Son Nhat Airport. Domestic flights of Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet Air will be transferred to Terminal T3.

Passenger Terminal T3 is built with a scale of 1 basement and 4 floors, with a total floor area of ​​up to 112,500m². The space inside the terminal is scientifically and modernly arranged with 90 traditional check-in counters, 20 automatic baggage drop counters (bagdrop) and 42 self-service check-in kiosks, helping to optimize check-in time for passengers.

The terminal has 27 boarding gates, of which 13 are via flyovers and 14 are served by buses, along with 6 departure baggage islands and 10 arrival baggage islands. Security at the terminal is enhanced with 25 passenger control gates and especially 8 modern security control gates. In addition, Terminal T3 is also designed with a separate area for VIP, business class and priority guests, ensuring a high-class and convenient service experience.

Before Terminal T3 is completed, the Tran Quoc Hoan - Cong Hoa connecting road, one of the main traffic routes directly connecting to the terminal, has also been almost completed. The project is in the stage of completing technical infrastructure, installing lighting systems and organizing traffic, contributing to synchronizing infrastructure and reducing traffic congestion around Tan Son Nhat airport when Terminal T3 is officially put into operation.

Units are mobilizing all human resources to clean and tidy up the entire space and complete the final details. A representative of Tan Son Nhat Airport said that every day, nearly 200 workers work continuously from the lobby to the 3rd floor, waiting rooms and other areas. The general cleaning is expected to be completed on April 17.

According to the plan, from April 17, Vietnam Airlines flights between Ho Chi Minh City and Van Don will be transferred to Terminal T3. By the end of April, all domestic flights of Vietnam Airlines will officially transfer to Terminal T3, except for flights between Ho Chi Minh City and Con Dao, Ca Mau, Rach Gia which will continue to operate at Terminal T1.
