According to Deputy Minister Phung Duc Tien, with the close direction of the Government and the Prime Minister, especially in the context of many fluctuations in international trade, our agricultural export value has reached 15.71 billion USD, an increase of 13.1% over the same period last year.
Specifically, fruit and vegetable products achieved value. export nearly 10 billion USD, seafood also reached 2.29 billion USD and increased by 18%, agricultural products and agricultural products increased by more than 4 billion USD...
According to Deputy Minister Phung Duc Tien, there are items such as rice that have increased in output but decreased in value, while there are items that have increased in both value and output; there are also industries that have decreased in output such as: coffee but increased in value by up to 46%...
Leaders of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment said that recently there have been changes in tax policies and requirements of international markets. In particular, the US market is applying new tariff measures on many items, including agricultural products.
However, to cope with these changes, Vietnam has made careful and flexible preparations, including proactively developing response scenarios and closely cooperating with relevant ministries and sectors. At the same time, specialized agencies have also worked with international partners to minimize negative impacts and find the most effective solutions for Vietnam's agricultural sector.
Regarding the development strategy in the coming time, Deputy Minister Phung Duc Tien said that we continue to emphasize restructuring the agricultural sector towards sustainability, associated with international requirements and standards.
“The goal is not only to increase output but also to improve added value and product quality. This will ensure that Vietnamese agricultural products are not only popular in traditional markets but also expand to new markets,” said the Deputy Minister.
