The project to build a new Trong Diem Secondary School (Ha Long City) is expected to be completed in time for April 30.

With the goal of completing a synchronous and modern infrastructure, meeting the needs of teaching and learning, and improving the training quality of the school, at the end of July 2024, Ha Long City implemented the project to build a new Trong Diem Secondary School on the land of the Provincial Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities (area 6B, Hong Hai ward). After nearly 8 months of construction, the project has completed about 90% of the volume.

After nearly 8 months of construction, the Trong Diem Secondary School new construction project has now completed the main structural items.

The project to build a new Trong Diem Secondary School has an area of over 1.5 hectares, a scale of 45 classrooms with a total investment of 160 billion VND, meeting the learning needs of 2,000 students.

The project includes the following main items: Construction of a new 5-storey administrative building with a construction area of nearly 1,700m2; construction of two new 4-storey school buildings with a construction area of over 1,300m2; construction of a new multi-purpose building and a basement with an area of 1,400m2; renovation of the practice building into a library and completion of auxiliary infrastructure items.

Contractors are focusing on finishing work, in which construction, plastering, painting, and balcony installation in the blocks have reached over 90% of the total volume.

In order to speed up the project progress, the construction unit has increased the mobilization of human and material resources with nearly 300 workers working continuously at the construction site. The City Investment and Construction Management Board has also arranged 3-4 direct supervisors at the site to promptly grasp and resolve any problems arising in the project. At the same time, the City People's Committee has also carried out capital disbursement according to the construction progress.

Up to now, the project has completed the structural part and is currently completing the construction, specifically as follows: The administrative block, school blocks, library, multi-purpose building are completing tiling, plastering, painting, and installing electrical equipment (reaching over 90%); the yard, gate, fence, internal road and auxiliary items outside the house have reached 70% of the volume... The project is expected to be completed by the end of April 2025 (1 month ahead of schedule), ensuring that the project will be put into use in the 2025-2026 school year.

The equipment in the classrooms has been basically installed.

Trong Diem Secondary School is considered the cradle of training excellent students for the province with the rate of students passing the entrance exam to Ha Long Specialized High School reaching about 35%/year. The construction of the new Trong Diem Secondary School is a step to concretize Resolution No. 170-NQ/TU of the Provincial Party Committee issued on October 30, 2023 "on building and promoting cultural values, human strength of Quang Ninh to become an endogenous resource, a driving force for rapid and sustainable development".

At the same time, continue to affirm the attention and care of the Party Committee and the government of Ha Long City to improving the quality of the educational system in the area for the purpose of improving people's knowledge, training human resources, and fostering talents.
