Hotels near Hung Temple fully booked on Hung King's death anniversary

On the morning of April 1, hotel and motel rooms around Hung Temple and Viet Tri city were fully booked on the night of April 6, one day before the Hung King's death anniversary.

Lake view Hotel, Rosy Viet Tri, Phu Tho Hotel, Phi Long Hotel, Moc Huong, Thai Duong with prices around 300,000-500,000 VND per night all said they were fully booked many days in advance.

According to statistics from the People's Committee of Phu Tho province, the province currently has 380 accommodation establishments including 49 hotels with standards from 1 to 5 stars and 331 motels that have been assessed as qualified to serve tourists on the occasion of Hung Kings' death anniversary. And currently, most of the accommodation areas around Hung Temple area are fully booked.

Ms. Hoang Huyen, manager of Phu Tho Hotel in the center of Viet Tri city, about 10 km from Hung Temple, said that the hotel was "fully booked since last month", and the same was true of surrounding accommodations. The owner of Thai Duong Hotel, about 5 km from Hung Temple, also said that there were no rooms available on the night of April 6.

"Every year on the Hung Kings' death anniversary, the city has entertainment activities in the evening before the main ceremony, so many guests choose to stay here," added the owner of Thai Duong Hotel.

On booking applications such as Agoda, Booking and ivivu, the number of rooms left is quite small, mainly in 4-star hotels and above such as Muong Thanh Luxury, Sojo Viet Tri, Saigon - Phu Tho, and the remaining category is high-end rooms from 3 million VND per night. Rooms priced above and below 1 million VND have all been booked. In addition, some homestays or resorts located about 20-30 km from Viet Tri are also fully booked.

This year, the Hung Kings Commemoration Day holiday lasts for 3 days (from April 5 to 7), with the main celebration taking place on April 7 (the 10th day of the 3rd lunar month). Many families in Hanoi and surrounding areas combine their vacation with a trip to the Thanh Thuy district mineral springs. Accommodation facilities around the mineral springs area also recorded a high number of room bookings.

Ms. Oanh Nguyen, Hanoi, said that her whole family booked a room at a resort more than a month ago for VND4 million a night for a 3-bedroom villa. Now, when she contacted to book more rooms, she was informed that they were all sold out. Ms. Phuong Thanh, the owner of an apartment for rent in this area, said that her place was booked weeks before the Hung Kings' death anniversary. Closer to the date, many guests asked but there were no more rooms.

The Hung Kings' death anniversary and the 2025 Ancestral Land Cultural Tourism Week will take place from March 29 to April 7 (the 10th day of the third lunar month). According to the Hung Kings Temple Historical Relic Site Management Board, over 32,000 visitors visited over the past two weekends, including over 20,000 on March 30 and 12,000 on March 29.

The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Phu Tho province said that tourists will be free to visit relics, tourist attractions, amusement and entertainment areas at Hung Vuong Square, Van Lang Park, Lai Len Temple, and Hung Lo Community Cultural Tourism Site.

In addition, when visiting Hung Temple, Long Coc tea hill, Xuan Son National Park, Hung Lo community tourism area, tourists who book tours and services directly with businesses have the opportunity to receive discounts from 20 to 50%, free experiences of singing xoan, stam duong, tea picking, making rice noodles, wrapping banh chung, and pounding banh giay.
