On November 19, Phu Lam Traffic Police Team under the Traffic Police Department - Ho Chi Minh City Police said that they are making a record to handle the violation of the driver who violated the alcohol concentration and cursed at passersby as reported on social networks.

Accordingly, on November 19, a clip was circulated on social media showing a man who appeared to be drunk, sitting in the driver’s seat of a car and cursing at passersby. Information circulating on social media said that this man was a police officer.

However, the Phu Lam Traffic Police Team confirmed that the incident occurred on the evening of November 17 on Kinh Duong Vuong Street, District 6, near the Phu Lam roundabout. At the time of the incident, the patrol team of the Phu Lam Traffic Police Team was present at the scene, invited the man and brought the vehicle back for investigation.

Through testing, it was determined that this man violated the alcohol concentration level of 0.218 mg/liter of breath. The traffic police team drew up a record of the violation, the man also admitted and signed the record.

Traffic police also clarified that the violator was not a police officer as spread on social networks.

On the same day, the Traffic Police - Order Team of Binh Thanh District is also preparing a case to handle the violation against Mr. VVT (32 years old, residing in Thu Duc City) for the violation of alcohol concentration at 0.335 mg/liter of breath while driving a car.

Previously, on the evening of November 18, the Traffic Police - Order force discovered that Mr. T. showed signs of being drunk while driving at the intersection of Nguyen Xi - No Trang Long, so they signaled him to stop the car for inspection. Through measuring with a device, Mr. T. violated the alcohol concentration at 0.335 mg/liter of breath.

However, he did not sign the violation report and claimed to be a journalist working at a press agency with an office located in Tan Binh district to ask for the traffic police's sympathy.

Through preliminary verification, Mr. T. was not a journalist at the above unit. At the scene, the traffic police took the vehicle to the headquarters and invited Mr. T. to work with them to handle the matter according to regulations.
