Regarding the bus accident that killed four Chinese tourists in Khanh Hoa on the afternoon of July 18, the National Traffic Safety Committee said that the accident resulted in four deaths, nine injured people who had to be treated in the hospital, and six others being treated in the hospital to recover their mental health.

The report said that according to the initial statement of driver Ho Ngoc Hung (born in 1965, residing in Ho Chi Minh City), the passenger bus lost its brakes while going downhill and overturned.
Upon inspection, the authorities said the driver tested negative for drugs and alcohol; had a class D driver's license, valid until March 9, 2028. The technical safety inspection stamp is valid until July 27.
Through extracting the vehicle's journey monitoring data at the scene, it was determined that the vehicle's final speed at 14:47 was 45 km/h (the road allows a speed of 50 km/h). The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
Last night, the Prime Minister sent a telegram to the Ministries of Public Security, Foreign Affairs, Transport and Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee requesting urgent action to overcome the consequences of the accident.
The Prime Minister requested the Chairman of the People's Committee and Head of the National Traffic Safety Committee of Khanh Hoa province to direct the provincial agencies and functional units to concentrate the maximum number of doctors, medicines, and medical equipment to treat the injured victims; create favorable conditions for the families to quickly approach the victims in the accident, carry out procedures related to the deceased victims; organize visits, support and encouragement to the families of the deceased victims and the injured victims in the accident.
At the same time, closely coordinate with relevant agencies of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Chinese Embassy in handling the next steps, ensuring compliance with legal regulations.
The Prime Minister also requested the Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee to directly chair a conference to assess the causes, deploy solutions to overcome shortcomings and inadequacies, and consider handling the responsibilities of relevant collectives and individuals.
Coordinate with the competent agencies of the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Transport, and the Hanoi People's Committee to conduct a comprehensive inspection of compliance with regulations on business and conditions for automobile transportation business for enterprises, business households with vehicles and people involved in the accident; strictly handle violations in accordance with the law.
The Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Public Security to direct the Khanh Hoa Provincial Police and relevant police units to urgently investigate and clarify the cause of the accident and strictly handle in accordance with the law the organizations and individuals who violated regulations, causing the above-mentioned particularly serious accident.
Identify and clarify the direct causes of traffic accidents and causes related to the responsibilities of groups and individuals in State management, serving the prevention of similar traffic accidents in the future.

According to a quick report from the Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee, at 3:20 p.m. on July 18, at Km 56+200 of National Highway 27C, passing through Khanh Le Pass (Khanh Vinh District, Khanh Hoa), a particularly serious accident occurred. A passenger bus with license plate 29B-405.83 carrying 20 Chinese passengers and 2 Vietnamese tour guides, traveling from Da Lat to Nha Trang, overturned. The incident killed 4 people and injured 9 others.
