National Highway 27C through Khanh Le Pass connecting Khanh Hoa and Lam Dong provinces officially opened to traffic with 2 lanes 24/7 from 5:00 p.m. on December 30, 2024.
The landslide area at Km43+300 - Km43+500 through Khanh Le pass on National Highway 27C is one of the locations where serious landslides occurred.
On the afternoon of December 30, Mr. Nguyen Phuong Nam, Deputy Director of Highway Management Area III (Vietnam Road Administration) informed that after days of efforts to repair damaged traffic works and clear landslides, with the active coordination and support of relevant agencies in Khanh Hoa and Lam Dong provinces, up to now, the serious landslides on Khanh Le Pass (especially the section Km43+200 - Km43+500) of Highway 27C have been repaired, meeting the conditions for 2-lane traffic 24/7.
"To ensure smooth traffic, on the entire Khanh Le Pass, National Highway 27C, starting from 5:00 p.m. on December 30, 2024, two lanes will be officially guaranteed to operate 24/7. In case of any traffic-related situations, National Highway QLDB III will promptly notify relevant agencies and traffic participants," said Mr. Nam.
Regarding the work of overcoming landslides on Khanh Le Pass, Mr. Nam added that on December 26, 2024, the Ministry of Transport issued Decision No. 1637 on declaring a natural disaster emergency to overcome damage to traffic infrastructure on National Highway 27C within the area assigned to the management of Highway QLDB III due to the impact of heavy rain from December 9, 2024 to December 17, 2024. Currently, Highway QLDB III is implementing procedures to continue to thoroughly overcome damage to traffic infrastructure on National Highway 27C to restore the status of the route as soon as possible.
