On the evening of March 25, a decorated flower car promoting the 2024 Quan The Am Festival (Ngu Hanh Son, Da Nang city) caught fire while parading on Phan Chau Trinh street (Hai Chau district).
When the fire broke out, the authorities quickly used fire extinguishers to put out the fire so it did not cause serious consequences.
The leader of Ngu Hanh Son District People's Committee confirmed the incident and said that the car belonged to Hoa Hai Ward People's Committee. The initial cause was determined to be an electrical short circuit.
The flower car was parading on the streets of Da Nang when it caught fire.
This is the first night of the float parade, to promote the Quan The Am Festival event.
The group has 7 flower floats parading from 6pm to 8:30pm for 4 days (from March 25 to 28). On the evening of March 25, the floats parade along the following routes: Su Van Hanh - Le Van Hien - Ngu Hanh Son - Ngo Quyen - Dragon Bridge - Bach Dang - Dong Da - Le Loi - Phan Chau Trinh - Nguyen Van Linh - 2/9 Street - Tuyen Son Bridge - Le Van Hien - Su Van Hanh.
In the following days, the cars will travel on different routes and by the evening of March 28, all the flower cars will gather at the scenic area of Ngu Hanh Son (in front of Thai Son Pagoda) for visitors to enjoy.
According to information from the organizing committee, from March 26 to 29 (February 17 to 20 of the lunar calendar), the Quan The Am and Ngu Hanh Son Festival 2024 will take place at the Quan The Am Pagoda campus and Su Van Hanh and Le Van Hien streets.
The main activities at this year's festival include the opening ceremony taking place at 5:30 p.m. on March 26 (February 17 of the lunar calendar); the Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara's birthday ceremony (official ceremony) at 7 a.m. on March 28 (February 19 of the lunar calendar); the incense offering ceremony in memory of Princess Huyen Tran, the Spring worship ceremony to pray for national peace and people's safety...
In particular, this year's festival has many new features such as traditional boat racing on Co Co River with historical scenes reenacted on the river, a drawing contest about the Quan The Am Festival; a writing contest about works of Van Hanh Library; an Olympic run "For Peace" and many art activities and folk games.
Within the framework of the festival, there will also be a discussion on promoting the value of the Quan The Am Festival and cultural heritages in the Ngu Hanh Son National Special Monument complex.
