Top 2 most beautiful islands in the world
Director of Kien Giang Province Department of Tourism Bui Quoc Thai said that recently, Travel & Leisure Magazine (USA) announced the list of 25 most beautiful islands and archipelagos in the world in 2024. Phu Quoc Island ranked 2nd in the list, after Maldives.
“Phu Quoc is the only representative of Vietnam on the list. This site has identified Phu Quoc as having the greatest strength as an emerging tourist destination in the world. Phu Quoc still maintains its peacefulness but still has luxurious services and hotels,” said Mr. Thai.
In the first 7 months of 2024, Kien Giang is estimated to welcome nearly 6.7 million visitors, with total revenue reaching nearly 15,600 billion VND. Phu Quoc City alone welcomed nearly 4 million visitors (including more than 562,000 international visitors), with total revenue reaching more than 12,800 billion VND.
According to the development orientation until 2025, Phu Quoc is known as a tourist center with high-class resort ecosystems and the best quality of life in the Southwest region.
Chairman of Phu Quoc City People's Committee Huynh Quang Hung said that Phu Quoc now has many international-class entertainment spots and areas, and the number of international tourists has increased sharply every year.
Currently, Phu Quoc welcomes international flights to: Korea; Taiwan, Hong Kong, Shanghai (China); Malaysia; Thailand and some countries with charter flights to the pearl island. Of which, Korea is the country with the most flights to Phu Quoc with 4 airlines operating.
According to Phu Quoc International Airport, the pearl island has about 41 to 43 flights arriving every day, a significant increase compared to before. The number of international flights to the pearl island increased by 186%, of which international arrivals increased by 134.8% compared to the same period in 2023.
According to statistics, Korean and Taiwanese tourists account for a large proportion of international visitors to the Pearl Island, followed by visitors from Europe and Central Asia. From now until the end of the year, the number of flights and international visitors will continue to increase compared to previous years.
Building the tourism brand of Ngoc Island
To develop sustainably, Phu Quoc needs to build its own unique tourism brand, creating attraction, diverse attractions, and abundant accommodation facilities.
