In 2023, the Provincial Military Command closely coordinated with departments, branches, sectors and localities to advise the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee to fully issue leadership and direction documents and effectively organize the implementation of local military and defense tasks. Organize district-level defense area drills, participate in coastal defense drills; complete military recruitment targets at 3 levels, and send official party members to join the army exceeding the target.
The provincial armed forces also ensured safety for the activities of leaders of the Party, State, and Ministry of National Defense visiting and working in the province and activities on holidays, anniversaries, and the National Tourism Year. The forces coordinated well to control the local situation; strictly maintained regulations on combat readiness. The work of building forces, training, and coaching subjects was strict, according to plan, ensuring absolute safety. Party committees at all levels strictly implemented the leadership work, building a clean and strong Party organization. The development of new Party members in the provincial armed forces reached 118% of the target.
At the conference, comrade Duong Van An pointed out new challenges in carrying out military and defense tasks in the coming time. The Provincial Party Secretary requested the Provincial Party Committee and Military Command to advise the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial People's Committee to lead and direct the serious and effective implementation of the Central Committee's resolutions on the Strategy for protecting the Fatherland in the new situation and the Strategy for protecting the Fatherland in cyberspace. Implement well the conditions on human resources, weapons and equipment to successfully organize the provincial defense zone associated with the defense posture of the Military Region. Enhance combat readiness, build a solid provincial defense zone, avoid surprises and passivity in all situations. Implement well the repair and construction of new defense works; have solutions to remove the overlapping of defense land, promote effective prevention of encroachment on defense land.
At the same time, proactively grasp, assess, and forecast the situation correctly; advise on timely and effective solutions, not allowing hot spots to form in the area; effectively fight against and refute distorted and fabricated information from hostile forces, opportunists, and discontented elements in cyberspace. Focus resources on building Phu Quy Island into a solid defense area, building a comprehensively strong island district to serve as a logistics base for the Truong Sa archipelago and DK1 Platform.
Building the provincial armed forces with a strong political stance, absolutely loyal to the Party, the Fatherland and the People; building a strong, widespread and high-quality militia and self-defense force; building a reserve mobilization force that ensures quantity and quality, meeting the requirements of the task. Continuing to improve the quality, ensuring the improvement of the lives of officers and soldiers; strictly managing weapons, equipment and techniques; performing well the tasks of fire prevention and fighting. Strengthening the inspection and examination of military and defense tasks; doing well the work of protecting internal politics. Officers and soldiers of the provincial armed forces must be truly exemplary, taking the lead in implementing the content of "7 dares" in the Army: "Dare to think, dare to speak, dare to do, dare to take responsibility, dare to innovate, be creative, dare to face difficulties and challenges and dare to act for the common good". Paying attention to taking good care of the material and spiritual life of policy families and meritorious people; Organize well the commemorative activities on major holidays in 2024, especially the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024)...
At the summary conference, the Provincial Military Command awarded the title of "Advanced Unit" to 24 collectives, the title of Emulation Fighter at the grassroots level to 57 individuals and the title of Advanced Fighter to 47 individuals for their outstanding achievements in the emulation movement to win in 2023.
