Authorities in Buon Ma Thuot City (Dak Lak) are verifying information about a 9-month-old baby with bruises on both cheeks and is being treated at the Central Highlands General Hospital.
On the morning of February 17, Mr. Pham Tien Hung, Vice Chairman of Buon Ma Thuot City People's Committee, said that the locality has requested relevant units to verify information about a 9-month-old baby with bruises on both cheeks. The baby is currently being treated at the Central Highlands General Hospital.
Previously, on the evening of February 16, a social media account named ADNĐ posted information and photos of a 9-month-old baby with bruises on both cheeks, suspected of being beaten at a daycare center. The post attracted the attention of the online community with many indignant comments.
Mr. Doan Van N. (born in 1987, residing in Krong Bong district, Dak Lak province) - the person who posted the above information on social media, said that the baby in the post is his child. There are only 2 father and son in the family, so after Tet, he took baby Doan Anh D. (9 months old) to Buon Ma Thuot city, and sent him to a daycare center on Tran Quy Cap street.
On the afternoon of February 14, after picking up his child, he discovered that both of his cheeks were bruised, so he called the babysitter to ask, but the babysitter said the child had not been beaten. On February 16, seeing that his child had a high fever and was vomiting, he took him to the Central Highlands General Hospital for treatment.
Then Mr. N continued to call the babysitter and his wife to ask about any unusual signs of the child during the time the child was left there to discuss with the doctor for monitoring and treatment.
"I asked, the owner of the daycare center said my child fell face down on a toy, but I don't agree with this explanation. If he fell face down on a toy, he would have injured his lips, mouth, face, and both cheeks would be bruised," said Mr. N.
Ms. C. (the owner of the daycare center) said that D. fell face down on a pile of toys and suffered a bruise on her cheek, but there was no beating. However, she did not inform the family because she was "afraid of affecting the father's work."
