The semi-final matches of the 2025 International Youth Student Football Tournament - THACO Cup took place on March 28, to determine the two finalists to compete for the noble title.

In the first semi-final match, Thanh Hoa University of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Life University (Cambodia) created a nerve-wracking match. After a goalless draw, the two teams were forced into a penalty shootout. In the end, the Vietnamese team was the more courageous team when they defeated their opponents with a score of 4-2. Goalkeeper Thatsaphone Xaiyasone became the hero with two golden saves, helping Thanh Hoa University of Culture, Sports and Tourism enter the second final match in just one month.

In the remaining match, Lao University also created an exciting chase with Malaysian University. After a draw in the first half despite many scoring opportunities, Lao University attacked continuously in the second half and opened the score thanks to a close-range finish by star Nanthavongdouangsy Thanousack (No. 10) in the 68th minute.

However, Malaysia University also tried very hard to equalize 1-1 with a dangerous header by Hariz Husaini in the 76th minute.

Thus, the final match will be a competition between Thanh Hoa University of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Lao University, taking place at 4:30 p.m. on March 30.

At 8:30 a.m. on March 30, Life University (Cambodia) and Malaysia University will meet in the third place match.
