Plum gardens in Moc Chau devastated by hail

TPO - In Moc Chau district (Son La), there has just been widespread hail accompanied by strong winds that lasted for many hours, affecting more than 2,500 hectares of crops.

Accordingly, on the afternoon of March 28, hail appeared in the town, Moc Chau Farm and some neighboring communes with strong intensity.

The heaviest hail occurred in Moc Chau Farm town, with 2 periods including 1:00 p.m. - 1:15 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. - 4:20 p.m.

The hailstones in the rain were 1 to 2cm in diameter.

Plum orchards after being swept through by hail all lost a lot of fruit.

Fortunately, the hail did not cause any damage to people or houses.

Moc Chau district has directed communes and towns to review damage, guide and support households to overcome the consequences.

According to forecasts, the weather is showing unusual developments. The Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of Moc Chau District requires communes and towns to regularly update weather conditions to inform and guide people to proactively prevent and minimize damage.

At the same time, this agency requires localities to prepare forces, materials, and means on the spot to promptly deploy rescue operations, minimizing damage to people and property.
