Video of Saenchai defeating Heyder
On November 24, Saenchai faced Brazilian boxer Heyder Alcantara in Roi Et (Thailand). Saenchai (born in 1980) has a huge record, including 6 Lumpinee championships. In kickboxing, Saenchai won 327 out of 378 matches. Saenchai's opponent, Heyder Alcantara (born in 1983), is a famous Brazilian Muay Thai boxer with 4 championships in the land of the golden pagoda.
The fight between the two fighters was intense from the start. In the first round, Saenchai threw many high kicks, but Heyder Alcantara was no slouch when he grabbed the Thai fighter's leg, knocking him to the floor. Saenchai then responded with a high kick to Heyder Alcantara's head, knocking the Brazilian down. However, Heyder Alcantara got up and continued fighting.
Heyder Alcantara took many hits from Saenchai
In the second round, Saenchai dominated Heyder Alcantara. Despite his best efforts, the Brazilian boxer was hit by a series of blows from Saenchai. After receiving a knee strike from his opponent, Heyder could not continue to stand up. The referee declared the victory for the 44-year-old Thai boxer.
After the fight, Heyder Alcantara shared that he was pleased to have reached the semi-finals of the Thai Fight King's Cup: “It's true that I lost by knockout in the second round, but it was not a defeat to a nobody. Saenchai is considered one of the three greatest Muay Thai fighters of all time, not some amateur who still wears shin guards to fight. I'm proud to have made it this far to the semi-finals of one of the biggest events in the world. It's hard to find events and opponents of a higher caliber than this. If you know where, let me know. For Saenchai, this is his 5th victory in 2024, all at Thai Fight. Previously, at the end of 2023, Saenchai had a fierce match with another big name in Muay Thai, Buakaw. In this bare-knuckle Muay Thai match, Buakaw Banchamek won against Saenchai.
