Designer duo Vu Ngoc and Son always perform shows associated with famous cultural and historical landmarks. After the Ho Chi Minh City Post Office, the Ho Chi Minh City Museum of Fine Arts... the couple chose Saigon Station as the next location for their fashion show.
The team spent 6 months incubating and discussing the idea. They received support from the authorities and the Saigon Railway Station Management Board to reach an agreement and get permission to carry out this show.
“The train station is a place that holds many deep memories, beautiful images of youth and art. This is the first emotion that brought us to the idea of doing this show,” said designer Vu Ngoc Tu.
The show aims to honor the achievements of Vietnam's railway industry in general and the beauty and modernity of Saigon station in particular.
Saigon Railway Station is known as one of the largest and most modern railway stations in Vietnam. This is also the final station - the end point of the North-South railway line across Vietnam; it acts as a transit point with a particularly important geographical location, the leading artery of the railway line connecting the two regions of the South and the North.
The fashion show was located in a station area with no active trains, with a 250m long catwalk.
Supermodel Thanh Truc Truong takes on the role of catwalk director. 80 male and female models will perform in the show, recreating the scene of waiting for the train, expressing the joy of reunion.
With this collection, the duo chose fresh orange as the main color, with the royal poinciana motif as the main inspiration.
According to the designer, the royal poinciana flower symbolizes summer - reminding people of their youth. This flower will be stylized in many different shapes and sizes.
The free-spirited, airy spirit of the shifting season fashion is fully exploited through familiar soft, feminine materials such as silk, organza... Taffeta continues to be used to express modern femininity - neutralizing softness and angular lines, making it the perfect choice for ladies. In addition, the designer promotes lace material to exploit the liberal modernity and the mysterious Asian charm.
“The 100 designs will be a stroll of color and modern femininity, on a background of vibrant youthful inspiration. Orange will be mixed with unique materials and designs to create a collection that bears our mark,” the duo shared.
The show will take place at 2:00 p.m. on July 25 at Saigon Station. The program is expected to have about 200 guests, with the participation of People's Artist Thanh Lam, singer Tung Duong, famous singer Cam Van, Hoa Minzy, actresses Ly Nha Ky, Mai Thu Huyen, beauty queens Ha Kieu Anh, Tieu Vy, Do Thi Ha...
