Undefeated Vietnamese boxer excellently defeated strong opponent from China

(Dan Tri) - After 3 rounds of kickboxing, Kieu Duy Quan won against a strong opponent from China, Zhou Haoran, to extend his unbeaten streak.

The highlight match at the Grand SF 2: Warriors event taking place in Ho Tram (Ba Ria - Vung Tau) on the evening of February 15 was the competition between Kieu Duy Quan and Zhou Haoran in the 70kg weight class.

Duy Quan is considered a rising star in the Vietnamese martial arts scene. The 22-year-old boxer has a series of 3 wins in the professional kickboxing arena, including impressive victories over very strong international opponents such as Kwon Gi Seop (Korea), Zhang Zihao (China)...

Meanwhile, Zhou Haoran is only 22 years old but has a wealth of experience in competition with 17 wins after 25 matches.

Facing a highly rated opponent, Duy Quan played with great confidence. In the first round, the Vietnamese fighter had a good kick that sent Zhou Haoran to the floor. In the second round, Duy Quan had an impressive counterattack against an opponent who was 1.89m tall.

Zhou Haoran clearly intended to use flying knee strikes, but Duy Quan predicted and neutralized them. The Vietnamese fighter fought quite calmly and was not intimidated by his tall opponent.

In the third round, Zhou Haoran continued to attack but Duy Quan defended well. In the end, the Vietnamese boxer won by points. He extended his winning streak in the professional kickboxing arena to 4 matches.

In the opening match of the event, boxer Nguyen Thanh Dat won by knockout against Thailand's Chankham Oathiphong in the 60kg weight class. Hoang Dinh Manh also won by knockout against Japanese opponent Kobayashi Asato in the first round.

On the other hand, Nguyen Xuan Phuong lost by points to Wu Chen Hao (China). Most regrettably, the 2024 Asian kickboxing champion, Tran Vo Song Thuong, lost to Korean boxer Kim Ji Sun.
