Young couple won first prize in Thua Thien - Hue startup competition

Husband and wife Hoang Thi Cam Nhung just won first prize in the 2023 Thua Thien - Hue Province Innovation and Startup Competition.

The 2023 Thua Thien - Hue province innovation and startup competition has found the "champion", which is the project " Moc An Cereal - Journey to sustainable development" by author Hoang Thi Cam Nhung, 33 years old, Director of Moc An Green Agriculture Development Company Limited.

Ms. Hoang Thi Cam Nhung and her husband received first prize from the leaders of Thua Thien - Hue province.

Coming from the countryside of Phong Son commune (Phong Dien district, Thua Thien - Hue), Ms. Hoang Thi Cam Nhung and her husband boldly built the Moc An clean cereal powder brand to develop sustainably with local resources.

After more than 5 years of expansion and development, from new models along with active learning and proactively understanding policies, Moc An has invested in machinery, equipment, packaging, labels... and strictly complied with regulations on food hygiene and safety.

Currently, Moc An cereal powder products have been certified with Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), an international standard for quality management systems, helping businesses and organizations control and limit hazards that arise during the food production and processing process.

"When learning about HACCP certification, I knew it was difficult, but with determination and prior preparation as well as careful research on raw material areas, I learned how to build a factory to meet standards. With the advice and support of the Department of Science and Technology of Thua Thien - Hue province, Moc An was able to do it," Cam Nhung said.

Leaders of departments and branches presented flowers to congratulate Ms. Hoang Thi Cam Nhung and her husband.

Cam Nhung shared more when receiving the award: "Since deciding to come to cereal powder, my husband and I have been determined and promised ourselves that we will bring a cereal powder line that is truly safe for health in the face of widespread dirty food. Today, Nhung confidently says so, because Nhung and her husband put all their heart into this brainchild Moc An."

The Organizing Committee also awarded 2 second prizes, 3 third prizes, 3 consolation prizes and 2 projects won awards from the Provincial People's Committee Chairman.

The 2023 Thua Thien - Hue province innovation and startup competition received 90 applications, many of which have created products that have been brought to market and have shown good development trends. After 3 rounds of competition, the Organizing Committee awarded prizes to 12 projects and excellent ideas of authors and groups of authors.

The Thua Thien - Hue province's innovation and start-up competition, after 8 years of implementation, has attracted the participation of more than 400 projects and start-up ideas, of which more than 100 projects were selected for the final round, nearly 80 potential projects were selected for provincial awards. From the competition, many projects have developed and brought products to domestic and foreign markets.
