(Fatherland) - Within the framework of the first Aspiration Stream Animation Film Festival, a series of events took place, including the 2024 Aspiration Animation Awards Ceremony, the launch of the Sconnect Studio and Sconnect Music brands, and the announcement of 4 animated film production projects.

Within the framework of the first Aspiration Stream Animation Film Festival, a series of events took place under the 2024 Animation Aspiration Award. The award is held to search for outstanding works, opening up a colorful and creative journey.

After the Preliminary, Final and Pitching rounds directly before the Jury Council, the Organizing Committee has selected and awarded the 2024 Animation Aspiration Award to the 7 best works in 3 categories: Script, animated film and animated character set .

BTC awards prizes to winning categories

In the script category, the award for potential animated feature film script went to “Anna and the Magic Book” by author Nguyen Mai Dung; the award for potential animated series script went to “Rageful Vegetables” by two authors Duong Thu Thao and Ha Diem Quynh; the award for outstanding animated short film went to two works “Violin Dance” by author Dang Dinh Vu and “The Boy who Cheated Death” by author Pipou Phuong Nguyen; the award for outstanding animated series went to “Tiger and Buffalo” by author Do Anh Tien; the award for outstanding animated character set went to the Bearee character set by the Bearee production team; the award for outstanding animated character set went to the Bubu Buffalo character set by author Dang Thi Thanh Huyen.

In addition to the official awards, the Organizing Committee also awarded prizes to projects with particularly creative ideas, breakthrough spirit and clear personal imprint. The Organizing Committee decided to award 6 more Creative Awards to promising projects.

In particular, the award for creative animated short film was given to the works "Kho cao" by the group of authors Nguyen Hoang Thanh Bach and Nguyen Phuc Thanh Tu and the work "Nguoi lat rat" by the group of authors SCM Media; The creative animated feature film script was given to the work "Nhung chuc loi loi" by the author Nguyen Trung Dung; The creative animated character set was given to 3 works "Em be chat" by the group of authors Gia dinh lon Big Brother's along with "Super Sock" by the group of authors Sock Squad and "Nuton Lola and the Mighty" by the author Wuity.

In particular, the French Embassy and the French Institute in Vietnam awarded a prize worth 200 million VND to the outstanding potential animated film script for the work “Anna and the Magic Book” by author Nguyen Mai Dung. Sconnect Studio also announced its investment in producing an animated film for this outstanding potential script.

Ms. Sophie Maysonnave - Counselor for Cultural Cooperation and Development of the French Embassy and Director of the French Institute in Vietnam expressed her joy at being able to accompany the Film Festival, especially the 2024 Animation Aspiration Award. This award aims to support the work in the completion process, affirming the commitment to promoting the development of the Vietnamese animation industry, while strengthening the cultural and artistic cooperation relationship between Vietnam and France.

The Organizing Committee also honored 30 excellent works nominated for the final round.

According to the Jury, the 2024 Animation Aspiration Award has received positive responses from organizations and individuals who love animation and are passionate about creativity since its inception. The award recognized more than 100 projects participating in 3 categories. After the impartial work of the Jury Council, from many potential projects, the Organizing Committee selected 30 excellent works to be nominated for the final round.

In the final round, 9 potential projects had the opportunity to present before the jury consisting of artists, prestigious experts in the animation and film industry in Vietnam and France, investors and producers. The winning projects were honored as those that not only made a strong impression with their creativity but also with their development potential, promising to be promising projects.

Series of events connecting the passion of many generations of Vietnamese animation lovers

The first Stream of Aspiration Animation Film Festival will take place from November 8, 2024 to November 30, 2024 in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City with about 20 events and activities within the framework of the program. The main event series will be held from November 22 to November 24 at the Vincom Center for Contemporary Arts - Vincom Royal City, Hanoi. With a series of programs carefully invested in both content and artistic style, along with many attractive activities, the first Stream of Aspiration Animation Film Festival has created a cultural and artistic space that blends tradition and contemporary, leaving a strong impression on generations of animation artists, as well as in the hearts of fans.

Exhibition of works

The seminars with the topics “The historical flow and future of Vietnamese animation”, “Honoring Vietnamese painting - Unique art of Vietnamese animation”, “Exploiting the potential of the Vietnamese animation market from domestic to global” discussed the development history of Vietnamese animation throughout the 65-year journey. At the same time, the future of the animation industry in the face of market development trends was also discussed, to see the picture and development opportunities in the future of the animation industry.

The exhibition area Honoring Vietnamese painting is also a unique feature that attracts visitors and producers, exploiting animation content. Walking along the "Rai Rong - Vietnamese Animation Flow", the audience can admire the names of talented artists and classic Vietnamese animation works. Immerse yourself in the stories of those who laid the foundation for Vietnamese animation in the biographical exhibition area. Next to it is an area displaying valuable artifacts associated with the development history of Vietnamese animation: From the first sketches, watercolor boxes, classic film projectors, to original scripts that still retain the handwriting of early artists.

The Project Market is a place where production units and independent filmmakers can introduce, exchange and trade production ideas and audiences can explore new production techniques, from 2D, 3D, to Frame by Frame and Stopmotion, along with future animation projects, thereby clearly demonstrating the innovation and creativity of generations of Vietnamese animation artists.

The free Vietnam - France animated film screening week held from November 16 to November 30 attracted more than 1,000 viewers to register to watch films at different screening clusters. The films screened were outstanding animated works from Vietnam and France, creating opportunities for cultural exchange and enhancing understanding of cinema between the two countries. The screenings were held at many screening clusters such as the National Cinema Center, Sconnect International Animation Training Academy (SAMA), Vincom Royal City Contemporary Arts Center and Vinhome Ocean Park 3, attracting a large number of viewers, especially families and children.

In particular, the launch event of the Sconnect Studio and Sconnect Music brands (members of the Sconnect Ecosystem) and the announcement of 4 “Make in Vietnam” animated film production projects with the titles: “The Legend of the Taurus”, “Wolfoo and the Race of the Three Realms”, “Blank Blank Ceramic Warrior” and “Squint-Eyed Zombie” not only affirms the potential of domestic producers to produce high-quality animated films but also contributes to enhancing the position of Vietnamese animation in the international market.
