At the end of the competition day on May 12, the athletes brought home 13 more Gold Medals for the Vietnamese Sports Delegation (5 Wushu, 4 Diving, 2 Athletics, 2 Taekwondo). We thereby continued to maintain the No. 1 position on the overall rankings.

Specifically, the Vietnamese Wushu team had a successful competition day with 5 Gold Medals from Nong Van Huu, Nguyen Thi Lan, Bui Truong Giang, Truong Van Chuong and Dinh Van Bi. Only Van Huu's event was a performance, while the remaining 4 athletes were all in the combat event.
Athletics contributed 2 Gold Medals to Nguyen Thi Oanh in the 10,000m event and the women's 4x400m relay team (Nguyen Thi Ngoc, Hoang Thi Minh Hanh, Nguyen Thi Hang and Nguyen Thi Huyen).
The Vietnamese Taekwondo team won the first two Gold Medals at the 32nd SEA Games in the men's standard team event of Pham Quoc Viet, Nguyen Thien Phung and Nguyen Trong Phuc; and in the team event of Nguyen Ngoc Minh Hy, Nguyen Thi Mong Quynh, Hua Van Huy, Chau Tuyet Van and Tran Dang Khoa.
The Vietnamese Diving Team also had a successful first day of competition, winning 4 consecutive Gold Medals from Nguyen Thanh Loc in the men's 100m freestyle; Le Thi Thanh Van in the women's 100m freestyle; Nguyen Trong Dung, Dang Duc Manh, Do Dinh Toan and Nguyen Khang Dung in the men's 4x200m fins; Cao Thi Duyen, Nguyen Hoai Thuong, Dang Thi Vuong and Pham Thi Thu in the women's 4x200m fins.
With these impressive achievements, the Vietnamese Sports Delegation reached 71 Gold Medals at the 32nd SEA Games to firmly hold the top position in the medal tally.
