DTO - On February 11, at the meeting room of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, comrade Le Quoc Phong - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Steering Committee (SC) to implement the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in Dong Thap province (abbreviated as the Provincial SC) chaired the 2nd meeting of the Provincial SC. Attending were comrade Tran Tri Quang - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; members of the Provincial SC; representatives of the leaders of the Provincial Party Committee Office, Department of Finance, Department of Natural Resources and Environment; Head of the District-level SC.
Comrade Huynh Minh Tuan - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee reported on the situation and results of the implementation of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in the province at the meeting.
At the meeting, the representative of the Party Committee of the Provincial People's Committee reported on the situation and results of the implementation of the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in Dong Thap province (up to February 7, 2025). Accordingly, through reviewing the need to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses according to the criteria for temporary and dilapidated houses prescribed in Decision No. 55/QD-BXD dated January 20, 2025 of the Ministry of Construction, the whole province has 3,792 poor and near-poor households and households with meritorious services to the revolution in need of housing support (a decrease of 734 households compared to the initial review of 4,526 households). Of which, 2,550 poor and near-poor households and households with meritorious services to the revolution can receive immediate support to build and repair houses; there are 1,242 poor and near-poor households without land. The level of support for housing construction for poor and near-poor households is 60 million VND/household for new construction, 30 million VND/household for repair; households with meritorious services to the revolution are 80 million VND/household for new construction, 40 million VND/household for repair. The total estimated cost for households eligible for support is 132.5 billion VND.
In addition, representatives of leaders of districts and cities reported on the implementation of the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in the locality in 2025; advantages and difficulties; shared solutions to mobilize resources from families and clans of people to support the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses for people...
Comrade Le Quoc Phong, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee delivered a concluding speech at the meeting.
Concluding the meeting, Provincial Party Secretary Le Quoc Phong emphasized that the goal is to focus on eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses for people in the province before the 12th Provincial Party Congress. Therefore, it is recommended that districts and cities review and report final data related to the situation of temporary and dilapidated houses for poor, near-poor households, and policy families in the locality according to Decision No. 55 of the Ministry of Construction, in which policy families, poor and near-poor households are classified. By the end of February 2025, the district-level Steering Committee will report data to the provincial Steering Committee. At the same time, based on the actual review, the district-level Steering Committee will report to the provincial Steering Committee on the local self-reliance in eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses; calculate and deploy many implementation options. For cases where policy families are eligible, housing support will be implemented immediately; priority will be given to households with the most dilapidated houses.
Provincial Party Secretary Le Quoc Phong requested the Party Committee of the Provincial People's Committee, provincial departments and branches to review and study appropriate policies and provide specific instructions to localities. The Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee allocates existing social resources for localities to implement the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses; coordinates with Dong Thap Radio and Television Station to develop a live television program to introduce many effective methods and models in advocacy and propaganda, especially the sharing between people to call for social resources to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses; presides over listening to the registration of provincial socio-political organizations to participate in eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses.
