DTO - Farmers in the province have planted over 42,000 hectares of summer-autumn rice, with most of the rice crops currently in the seedling stage.

To ensure production, the Department of Crop Production and Plant Protection of Dong Thap province recommends that farmers apply good technical solutions from the beginning of the season such as: 3 reductions and 3 increases, 1 must and 5 reductions, burying fertilizer at a ratio of 50-100% DAP + 50% Potassium before the final plowing, integrated plant health management (IPHM), rational water management, organic fertilizers, etc., to help rice grow and develop well, minimize the occurrence and damage of pests and diseases, contribute to saving production costs, and create safe products.

In addition, farmers need to regularly inspect their fields to detect pests and diseases such as rice blast and leaf blight early, so that they can take timely management and care measures to minimize the impact on rice plant growth. Farmers can spray to prevent neck blast and grain discoloration during the heading and flowering stages, strictly adhering to the "four correct principles" when spraying pesticides. They should also avoid spraying pesticides and growth stimulants on rice plants at least 20 days before harvest to ensure the quarantine period and food safety; and collect used pesticide packaging and bottles to reduce environmental pollution.
