On December 5, responding to a reporter's request for comment on political developments in South Korea, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Pham Thu Hang said that as a country with a comprehensive strategic partnership with South Korea, Vietnam is interested in and closely following current developments in South Korea.
"Vietnam believes that Korea will soon stabilize the situation and continue to develop strongly in the coming time," Ms. Pham Thu Hang added.

Regarding citizen protection, according to information from the Vietnamese Embassy in Korea, recent political developments have not yet affected the Vietnamese community.
After receiving information related to the current situation in Korea, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has directed the Vietnamese Embassy in Korea to urgently monitor related developments and immediately contact local authorities and Vietnamese associations in Korea to grasp the situation of citizens living, working and studying in the host country.
Currently, the Vietnamese Embassy is closely coordinating with Vietnamese community leaders, advising citizens to comply with regulations and instructions of local authorities to avoid large gatherings and to stay in contact with the Vietnamese diplomatic representative agency in Korea.
So far, the Vietnamese community in Korea is living, working and studying normally. And in the spirit of citizen protection and considering citizen protection as one of the top priorities of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Vietnam is actively working with the Vietnamese Embassy in Korea to closely monitor the situation and is ready to take necessary citizen protection measures.
