After many days of competition, the International Pastry Chef Competition in Vietnam has had a "rain" of awards given to nearly 500 domestic and international chefs and bakers.

After many days of competition at the International Talent Pastry Chef Competition in Vietnam (from December 11 to 14), 500 domestic and international chefs and bakers were awarded by the organizing committee, including: 20 championship cups, 45 gold medals, 74 silver medals, and 127 bronze medals. The Vietnam Tourism Association has just organized the award ceremony for the International Talent Pastry Chef Competition in Vietnam - The Vietnam Bakery Cup 2024 (VNBC). Chef Nguyen Hoang Vuong - who won 4 awards in the competition including 2 silver and 2 bronze in the Vietnamese cake and pizza decoration categories - said that in his competition, he used the image of Vietnamese rockery to decorate the cake, creating a strong national identity. The drawings with trees, leaves, rivers, and streams were highly appreciated by the judges. "Through the competition, the chefs also realized that Vietnamese cakes are very unique, can be mixed and decorated beautifully but still retain the standard delicious flavor. We have introduced the number one delicious Vietnamese cuisine and the skills of the bakers are not inferior to those in the region," said chef Vuong. Speaking at the award ceremony, Mr. Vu The Binh - Chairman of the Vietnam Tourism Association - highly appreciated the efforts of the team of professional Vietnamese chefs. Having more Vietnamese chefs participating in international competitions will affirm the position of Vietnamese cuisine in the international arena. In recent years, Vietnamese cuisine has ranked high on the world map, including cakes - specialties of many localities that have diversified the Vietnamese culinary treasure. With a young and talented baker force, Mr. Binh hopes that the bakery industry will have steps to improve its level to integrate internationally. In addition, the bakery industry aims to promote tourism and welcome visitors to visit some bakery establishments. In fact, if culinary tourism is promoted systematically, it will attract a large number of international tourists to Vietnam. Ms. Tran Thi Hien Minh - Vice President of the Saigon Professional Chefs Association - said that this is the first time Vietnam has organized a baking competition according to international standards, which is highly appreciated by foreign chefs. The competition not only affirms Vietnam's capacity in the baking field, but also inspires the younger generation and creates the premise for the competition to become an annual event, attracting the participation of many countries. "The organizers expect that Vietnam will be the cradle of baking production for countries around the world when the competition attracts many international bakers with high prizes to compete with young chefs who learn quickly," Ms. Hien Minh shared.
On this occasion, the Vietnam Tourism Association also officially launched the Vietnam Chefs Association and the Vietnam Bakery Association. In 2024, members of the Bakery Association participated in 11 competitions and won 118 international awards. According to assessments, the team of professional Vietnamese chefs is increasingly asserting its position in international arenas.

Ho Chi Minh City will play an important role in supporting and directing the activities of the association, aiming to enhance Vietnam's reputation in the field of culinary and baking internationally.
