Every full moon day of the twelfth lunar month, the rocky beach at Co Thach beach, Tuy Phong district (Binh Thuan province) puts on a picturesque beauty with the green color of the velvety moss layers, creating an allure for locals and tourists.
Located about 100km from the center of Phan Thiet city, Co Thach moss beach is becoming an attractive destination for many tourists who love new experiences and photography.
Co Thach Beach is always beautiful because of its wild beauty, attracting many tourists because it is associated with the famous tourist destination of Hang Pagoda and the 7-color stone beach.
However, the “moss hunting” season is considered the most attractive season. The Co Thach moss field has appeared in the past few years. The moss here appears as a natural phenomenon, not due to human impact. The patches of green moss cling tightly to large and small rocks of different shapes, strangely attractive.
According to locals, the best time to see moss on the beach is around 5-6am, when the tide is low and the water is high enough to cover the rocks. When the water recedes for too long, the rocks become dry and the moss is no longer smooth.
Moss season in Co Thach usually appears at the end of January every year and only lasts about a month. Depending on the weather and water level, the moss season can last longer, about two months.
The magical beauty of the moss field is an ideal destination for those who love to explore the beauty of nature. This is also an opportunity for professional photographers to enjoy discovering unique photo angles and experiencing the beauty of the land and people of Binh Thuan.
Tourist Kim Ngoc from Ho Chi Minh City said: "Because we are in the Photography Association, we knew about this moss field, so we decided to come here at the right time. Although we have traveled to many places to take photos, the moss field here is very unique, with long, smooth green moss strands and rocks of many shapes."
Ms. Nguyen Tuyet Suong, from Dong Nai, shared that she saw many posts on social networks introducing the moss field, so she asked an acquaintance to wait for the best time to go to Tuy Phong for a trip. Although she had to wake up quite early to "hunt for moss", in return, she got to experience the peaceful space at the beach, welcome the sunrise, watch the green moss, and be recharged for the new day.
In addition to going to Tuy Phong to "hunt for moss", at this time, visitors can also admire the colorful pebble beach with many large and small sizes, naturally formed by the impact of ocean currents and sea water.
Tourists can also visit and make a pilgrimage at the beginning of the year at the 100-year-old Co Thach Pagoda; experience agricultural tourism in local vineyards and apple orchards; admire the wind power "fields"; and explore the pristine and fresh Cu Lao Cau.
