Kuop village still retains 50 long roofs lying peacefully under the rich green patches on the main road leading to the Dray Nur - Dray Sap Thuong Waterfall Tourist Cluster. In mid-March 2024, this place was announced as a community tourism village, creating a basis for Kuop village to promote and invite visitors to stay, exchange culture, experience the daily life, and enjoy the cuisine of local people.

The traditional brocade weaving craft of the Ede people in Kuop village is still preserved.

As the first village in Krong Ana district to participate in community tourism, the people here have strongly promoted their role as the main subject, persistently learning how to do tourism every day to become more professional.

In addition to promoting the restoration of traditional cultural activities, bringing cultural identity closer to daily life, the Krong Ana district government is looking for ways to connect with tourism companies and businesses to accompany and support people in doing community tourism, forming more tours, bringing many interesting experiences to tourists.

Ms. H'Giang Nie is one of the first 5 households in Kuop village to do community tourism, organizing accommodation services for tourists. Through the support of Resolution No. 08/2021/NQ-HDND, dated August 13, 2021 of the Provincial People's Council on "Supporting the development of community tourism in ethnic minority villages and hamlets in Dak Lak province, period 2021 - 2025", her family has built a new system of fences, gates, toilets, planted more flowers and ornamental plants to create a close and friendly space. Focusing on promoting the unique cultural features of her ethnic group, Ms. H'Giang has carefully decorated the long house, arranged a space to display traditional Ede items, restored the craft of making rice wine, diversified the menu... to serve customers in the most thoughtful way.

Ms. H'Giang shared that, being familiar with the work of farmers, this was the first time she knew how to do tourism, so she had to learn while doing to gradually improve. Having been trained in the necessary skills to do tourism before, Ms. H'Giang clearly understood that it was necessary to attract guests with hospitality and the unique traditional values of her homeland, along with that, the services must bring the most comfort to visitors. Therefore, every time she welcomed guests, she carefully prepared everything from accommodation, food and warmly and happily chatted so that visitors felt close and familiar as if they were in their own home.

Identifying the highlights for community tourism, in addition to the natural landscape, also comes from the unique traditional cultural identities of the indigenous people. The Ede people in Kuop village tell each other to preserve and promote the soul of their nation that has been crystallized through many generations to form attractive tours.

Ms. H'Giang Nie (Kuop village) cleans and decorates her house to prepare to welcome guests.

Elder Y Hom H'đơk is nearly 80 years old, the former village elder of Kuop hamlet, who still preserves the long house and has more than 10 ancient jars. On days when he feels well, he calls young people in the hamlet to teach them how to make rice wine, make traditional musical instruments, and tell their children and grandchildren about the fine traditions of their people. He confided: "It is the stories about culture, customs, farming methods, and stories collected in the daily life of the Ede people that become interesting topics for tourists. Therefore, people, especially the young, must not forget, must remember to not only beautify the cultural heritage of their people but also connect to tourism, creating more attractiveness for a land".

Ms. H'No Hđơk, Head of Kuốp village, excitedly said that since the village started participating in community tourism, everyone in the village has been happy. Kuốp village has been supported with infrastructure investment and environmental landscape improvement, and everyone is proud. People are also aware of their responsibilities, focusing on taking care of and keeping their houses clean, together preserving their identity and promoting their ethnic traditions, and their behavioral culture has clearly changed. The village has established a Community Tourism Management Board and oriented households to build tourism products associated with their ethnic cultural identity.
