On the evening of April 6 at Thien Truong Stadium, Nam Dinh Club had a 2-0 victory when hosting Hai Phong Club, within the framework of round 17 of LPBank V-League 2024 - 2025.

Before this match, Nam Dinh FC was still leading the rankings with 31 points, but only 3 points behind the team right behind, The Cong - Viettel. Meanwhile, Hai Phong FC was ranked 8th with 20 points, still needing to accumulate more points to stay away from the bottom group.

In a careless pass back by a Hai Phong Club defender, Van Dat seized the opportunity to run down and assist Van Toan to finish with his left foot, opening the score 1-0 for Nam Dinh Club.

This goal marked Van Toan's return after 3 months of treatment for a knee ligament injury at the ASEAN Cup 2024.

After the goal, Nam Dinh Club played more excitedly and had a goal to increase the gap in the 57th minute, also by Van Toan.

After an aerial dispute in the penalty area, the ball bounced to Van Toan's position and he decisively volleyed it into the net of goalkeeper Dinh Trieu.

In the remaining minutes of the match, Hai Phong Club tried to raise their squad to find an equalizer but was unsuccessful.

In the end, Nam Dinh Club won 2-0 against Hai Phong Club, and continued to maintain the leading position in V-League.
