For his part, Van Quyet shared: "I regret not having won against India. The Vietnamese team did not play well. I was substituted in the last minutes so I tried very hard. No matter how long I played, I played to the best of my ability, but there were mistakes when playing with young players and a new tactical system.
I am an experienced person, I really want to score when I return to the national team but I am also willing to create conditions for my teammates. I want to participate in more big tournaments with spirit and determination. But now my physical condition is not good, I cannot meet the requirements."
Van Quyet also said he was surprised to be called up for this training session and to play in front of fans. He sent his best wishes to the Vietnamese team and the fans: "I hope the Vietnamese team plays well and the young players integrate soon. I will always accompany them in any position. Over the past 18 years, I have always tried my best and I hope that Vietnamese football will develop and the national team will grow stronger."
Van Quyet played 60 matches for the Vietnam national team and scored 16 goals. He scored his first goal for the team in the match against Macau on June 29, 2011 in the 2014 World Cup qualifiers.
