Promoting literary and artistic creation about journalism

The entries highlight the unique features and characteristics of journalism and journalists compared to other industries; and introduce typical elements in journalism.

On the afternoon of June 17, Hanoi People Magazine (Hanoi Literature and Arts Association) held the launching ceremony of the "Campaign for literary and artistic creation on journalism - journalists in the capital and the whole country 2025".

At the launching ceremony, journalist Vuong Minh Hue - Editor-in-Chief of Hanoi People Magazine, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Campaign, said that journalism and journalists have become a creative subject in many genres such as: cinema, theater, music, photography, literature...

These works have contributed to encouraging and motivating journalists to have more confidence in their chosen profession, have strong political will, pure ethics, create journalistic works that are full of life and have high fighting spirit, creating positive effects in society.

Accordingly, the "Campaign for literary and artistic creation on journalism - journalists in the capital and the whole country 2025" is a practical activity to celebrate the 99th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day, especially towards the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025).

The campaign is for professional and non-professional artists; journalists, reporters; Vietnamese citizens living, working, studying, and laboring in and outside the country; foreigners living, working, studying, and laboring in Vietnam.

The entries must express the following contents: praising and highlighting the significance, role and important mission of journalism, journalists and Vietnamese revolutionary journalism; informing and reflecting the daily work of journalists on the cultural and ideological front.

This is an opportunity to review the glorious tradition and important and great contributions of the Vietnamese revolutionary press in the struggle for national independence, national reunification, and the construction and protection of the Fatherland, and at the same time to honor the contributions of journalists to the journalism career.

Through literary and artistic works, we contribute to recreating and spreading the image of journalists and the journalism profession; raising awareness and sense of responsibility of journalists for the cause of protecting and developing the country; fostering and educating pride, love for the profession, determination to strive to become true journalists, contributing to the construction of the capital and the country.

In addition, the entries highlight the unique features and characteristics of journalism and journalists compared to other sectors in society; set an example and introduce typical advanced factors in journalism.

Speaking at the ceremony, Associate Professor, Dr. Do Hong Quan - Chairman of the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations, also affirmed that artists are soldiers on the cultural front, each creation is a sharp weapon against hostile ideologies.

According to him, there are many literary and artistic creation campaigns today, but this is a meaningful campaign, aiming to encourage and motivate artists to create about journalism, one of the noble professions.

From the practical meanings that the campaign aims for, the Organizing Committee hopes that artists will listen to the movements of the press to be able to reflect more deeply and clearly on journalism, on the "secretaries of the times".

Journalist Vuong Minh Hue also hopes that the campaign will contribute to spreading the image of journalists through literary and artistic works, so that the image of true journalists will reach closer to the hearts of readers.

Receiving entries : After launch until May 17, 2025.

Entries must be new, never entered in any other competition, never won any other awards, and have no disputes over copyright or authorship. Entries must fall into three categories: Song, Poetry, and Short Drama.

+ Song Genre : Expressed by musical notation, typed or handwritten on A4 paper, under the name of the work must clearly state the author of the lyrics and music; in case of co-authorship, full information of the authors must be stated.

+ Poetry : Entries must be written in Vietnamese, typed on one side of A4 paper. Each entry must clearly state the real name, address, phone number and email (if any). Each entrant must use only one pen name.

+ Short Play category : Entries must be in Vietnamese, typed on one side of A4 paper, and must meet the requirements for a stage script.

The summary ceremony, award ceremony and performance of the winning works are expected to take place on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025).
