According to information from the National Assembly Office, it is expected that on the morning of January 6, the National Assembly Standing Committee (NASC) will open its 41st session (January 2025) to review and decide on many important issues, including preparations for the 9th extraordinary session of the 15th National Assembly, scheduled to take place at the end of February. According to the plan, the 9th extraordinary session of the 15th National Assembly will decide on issues within its authority and amend laws related to the organization of the political system after streamlining the apparatus in the next 2 months. In addition, at the meeting taking place for 1.5 days (January 6-7), the NASC will also give opinions on the explanation, acceptance, and revision of the draft laws on Digital Technology Industry; Law on Employment (amended); Law on Amending and Supplementing a Number of Articles of the Law on Advertising; Law on Amending and Supplementing a Number of Articles of the Law on Technical Standards and Regulations. The Standing Committee of the National Assembly will also consider and approve a joint resolution detailing the organization of meetings between National Assembly deputies and People's Council deputies; a resolution of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly regulating the implementation of democracy within the agencies of the National Assembly, agencies under the Standing Committee of the National Assembly, and agencies of People's Councils at all levels. Regarding supervision, the National Assembly will also consider the report on the National Assembly's petition work in December 2024; and give opinions on the outline of the National Assembly's thematic supervision of the implementation of policies and laws on environmental protection since the Law on Environmental Protection 2020 took effect.
