Kinhtedothi- To implement the process of amending the Constitution and laws in Conclusions No. 126-KL/TW and No. 127-KL/TW of the Politburo and Secretariat, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man said that the 9th session of the National Assembly is expected to open early in May, after the April 30 and May 1 holidays.
On the afternoon of March 14, in his closing speech at the 43rd Session, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man said that after 2.5 working days, the National Assembly Standing Committee had completed giving opinions on 12 contents. Specifically, the National Assembly Standing Committee gave opinions and basically agreed on 7 draft laws prepared for the 9th session. Of which, 2 draft laws were given opinions by the National Assembly at the 8th Session and passed at the 9th Session, namely the Law on Special Consumption Tax and the Law on Corporate Income Tax. 5 draft laws were given opinions for the first time, including: the Law on Amending and Supplementing the Law on Product and Goods Quality, the Railway Law, the Law on Personal Data Protection, and the Law on State of Emergency.
The National Assembly Chairman requested that the National Assembly agencies coordinate to receive the opinions of the National Assembly Standing Committee to complete and send documents to the National Assembly deputies within the prescribed time. For issues with different opinions, the agencies will discuss and have a unified plan, in the spirit of ensuring socio-economic growth, national defense and security, building the government system, etc., to submit to the National Assembly for consideration and decision.
The Standing Committee of the National Assembly also voted to agree to reduce land rent in 2024. In addition, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly agreed that there is no need to issue a Resolution explaining the criteria for "clean and strong Party and mass organizations" in the Law on Emulation and Commendation, and at the same time suggested a solution for the Government to choose...

The amount of work to prepare for the session is very large, in which the laws need to be passed before June 30. The National Assembly Chairman requested relevant ministries and branches to ensure the content, quality and time of submission.
"Currently, there are less than 2 months left until the opening of the session. Time is very urgent. Many important contents are expected to be discussed by the National Assembly Standing Committee at this session, but documents have not been prepared yet, so we have to postpone them to the next session," emphasized National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man.
The National Assembly Chairman also said that the National Assembly Standing Committee is expected to hold another meeting at the end of March 2025 to give opinions on preparations for the 9th Session and other contents. In the second half of April 2025, after the competent authorities meet, the National Assembly Standing Committee will meet continuously to adjust commune-level boundaries; arranging about 60-70% of communes.
The April 2025 session is expected to last 10 days, organized into 2 sessions to review more than 45 contents. During the time between the 2 sessions, a conference of full-time National Assembly deputies is expected to be held to collect opinions on a number of draft laws before submitting them to the National Assembly at the 9th Session. In addition, there will be foreign affairs and other activities.
National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man requested that National Assembly agencies coordinate more closely with the Government, ministries and branches to have proactive and scientific working plans, report to the Chairman and Vice Chairmen of the National Assembly on arising issues for direction; promote a sense of responsibility, focus more, make more efforts, and give the highest priority to preparing for the 9th Session.
