In the context of digital transformation, facing many new challenges, the press plays an increasingly important role, the issue of training and professional development for members and journalists must be taken more seriously. Mr. Nguyen Bao Lam, member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Journalists Association, Chairman of the Thai Nguyen Journalists Association, said that the Thai Nguyen Journalists Association will continue to focus on training and improving the professional qualifications, skills, and professional ethics of reporters and editors. Focus on organizing training courses and in-depth training for members on the skills of using new technology in journalism... This not only helps create quality press products to participate in the Provincial Press Awards, Press Awards of Central Committees, Ministries, and Branches, National Press Awards...
He also shared that the addition of two new categories of awards, Creative Journalism and Multimedia Journalism, to this year's National Press Awards is an important step forward, reflecting the inevitable development trend of modern journalism. However, along with opportunities come many challenges. Producing multimedia journalism or creative journalism requires reporters to not only be good at their profession but also to master new skills such as data processing, graphic design, video editing, and the use of AI in news exploitation and production. This places higher demands on training and improving skills for the journalism team.
Sharing the same view and highly appreciating the quality of the content of the training programs on artificial intelligence on this occasion, Permanent Vice President of Quang Ninh Journalists Association Do Ngoc Ha affirmed: “In the context of strong digital transformation, equipping knowledge and skills to apply AI to journalism not only helps journalists improve their working capacity but also contributes to creating more quality and attractive journalism products. This is a practical activity towards the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Journalism Day, promoting the application of digital technology in journalism activities, helping journalists to constantly innovate and create, meeting the increasingly high demands of modern journalism”.
