Digitizing 14,642 OCOP products and building a data warehouse not only contributes to promoting and developing product trade in the market, but also helps Vietnamese consumers easily trace the origin of goods.

According to the report of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, in 2024, the One Commune One Product (OCOP) Program will continue to be implemented synchronously and widely by localities, becoming a priority solution in rural economic development.

To date, the whole country has over 14,642 OCOP products with 3 stars or more, an increase of 3,586 products compared to 2023. Of which, 73.2% are 3-star products, 23.5% are 4-star products, and 51 are 5-star products.

These products are owned by 8,086 OCOP entities, including: 32.7% are cooperatives, 24.1% are small enterprises, 42.7% are production establishments/business households, and the rest are cooperative groups.

The goal by 2025 is that the whole country will have about 15,000 products standardized according to the OCOP product criteria set.

To promote the effectiveness of OCOP products and adapt to the smart consumer market, localities are promoting the digitalization of these products, while building a shared data warehouse to enhance promotion and develop e-commerce.

Typically, the Nghe An Center for Social Sciences and Humanities (Department of Science and Technology) has carried out the task of "Supporting the construction of profiles and managing OCOP product data, digitizing products and building a traceability system according to the OCOP product value chain".

OCOP products in localities are being digitized to build a common data warehouse.

Accordingly, OCOP products of entities in Nghe An province are digitized. Through digitization, OCOP product data management helps to easily trace the origin, limit the problem of counterfeit goods, and help consumers feel secure in using them. In addition, OCOP products are promoted to be digitized to help protect the brand, affirm transparency and reputation in domestic and foreign markets.

Notably, 3D and 360-degree digital models are among the modern technologies that help optimize organization; contributing to bringing local products to more customers in the digital age.

According to Nghe Anh province, in 2024, the digitization and data management of all OCOP products of the province will help manage, promote and fully inform consumers on a comprehensive connection space platform and compatible with all devices.

Similarly, Khanh Hoa province is also gradually building OCOP product data through technology applications. Software specializing in OCOP products will evaluate, classify, and integrate the process of implementing database management of all product profiles, evaluation information, and OCOP rankings throughout the province.

This process includes the step from the OCOP subject registering to submit product dossiers until the dossiers are evaluated, ranked at different levels, and quality controlled after evaluation. Through the software system, the subjects of the OCOP Program will proactively participate, perform operations and create a comprehensive database system.

Over the past year, the “One Commune One OCOP Product” page has continuously updated information on products and stories about OCOP products of the subjects. This page of Nhan Dan newspaper was launched at the end of last year.

The OCOP page is the result of continuing to realize the newspaper's Digital Transformation Strategy, combining information and data with technology and creative ideas, contributing to spreading the values of quality and culture of Vietnam's OCOP products. Thereby, further promoting policy communication activities, going into depth, and better responding to the new requirements of the OCOP Program.

In our country, the OCOP Program has become a key policy, with strong spread, implemented synchronously and widely throughout the country. The general goal in the period of 2021-2025 is to develop OCOP products to unleash the potential and advantages of rural areas to increase people's income.

At the same time, contributing to continuing to restructure the agricultural sector associated with the development of small-scale industries, occupations, services and rural tourism; promoting sustainable development of the rural economy, on the basis of enhancing the application of digital transformation and circular economy, preserving cultural values, managing resources, preserving biodiversity, landscapes and rural environment, contributing to building new rural areas in depth, effectively and sustainably.

In particular, the website also has a “Product Section” to introduce OCOP products in all regions of the country. Up to now, there have been thousands of OCOP products from 3 to 5 stars updated in the Product section. This is the initial number, the update will be carried out continuously with the latest data information about OCOP products from central to local levels.

Accordingly, the specialized page will be a data warehouse with tens of thousands of products, helping users and entities easily search for products in the simplest and most convenient way.

In particular, the subjects in the process of building and developing their OCOP products can tell stories about the journey, the difficulties and advantages to turn a product into a 3-star OCOP, 4-star OCOP, 5-star OCOP and higher criteria. After being assessed for authenticity, these stories will be posted on the OCOP website.

Nhan Dan Newspaper also cooperates with technology units to support chip attachment for OCOP products. Through chip attachment, users can easily identify products, understand product stories, product images, etc.

According to Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Minh Hoan, behind each OCOP product there is the cooperation of many people, contributing to activating the rural economic sector, shifting towards creating products with high added value.

Each OCOP product aims to "activate" the dynamism and "revive the vitality" of the rural community, thereby training a new generation of entrepreneurs who are young people starting businesses with OCOP products.

With nearly 15,000 OCOP products, building a digital data warehouse not only helps management become transparent but also makes it easier for entities to access and promote their products on the market. As Minister Le Minh Hoan said: Creating a product is difficult, but putting the product on supermarket shelves and maintaining it is even more difficult. Whoever tells the most emotional story through the product will win.
