Doctor Ngo Thanh Tan, Deputy Director of Ca Mau Eye - Dermatology Hospital, spoke about the meaning and purpose of the training course.

The training course was taught directly by experts from the Department of Ophthalmology and Refractive Surgery - Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine (Ho Chi Minh City). This is the first time that the Department of Health of Ca Mau has organized this training program, with the aim of improving the professional capacity of local medical staff, while promoting communication and health education in the community about common eye diseases in children, diseases that can be treated locally. Raising community awareness about protecting and improving children's health, including eye diseases.

During the program, students are guided through theory and practice. After the training, doctors will conduct screening, classification and list of children who are indicated for surgery. Eligible cases of ptosis and strabismus will be surgically treated within the framework of the project “Comprehensive approach to vision improvement” funded by the ECF Fund, contributing to improving the visual health of children in Ca Mau province.
