For the first time, candidates can use their VNeID accounts to register for high school graduation exams and university entrance exams. This is also the year Hanoi continues to promote online enrollment in kindergartens and general schools to solve the problem of parents lining up to submit applications for early grades.

What are the benefits for candidates?
In recent years, the application of digital transformation to high school enrollment and graduation exams has helped candidates and schools save a lot of time and effort. If before 2023, every year about 1 million students took the high school graduation exam and about 650-700 thousand students registered for university and college admission had to enter data such as personal information, academic results, priority regimes, exam subjects, admission wishes... on paper forms, then from 2023 to now, the entire registration process has been done online.
Commenting on this change, first-year student Nguyen Thi Ngoc Anh of the National Economics University shared: “Last year, I completed the entire process from registering for the graduation exam, university admission, to paying fees, and confirming admission online on the Ministry of Education and Training's admission support system (http://thisinh.thitotnghiepthpt.edu.vn). Not having to fill in information on paper forms helps us save time, is convenient, and especially allows us to adjust information ourselves if we detect errors. After registering, I can also log in to the system to know which stage my application is being processed and what the results are.”
Tran Khanh Chi, a 12th grade student at Nguyen Van Cu High School (Gia Lam District), said that through the instructions, he realized that registering for the 2025 high school graduation exam on the system is quite simple, the most convenient thing is that he can fill in the information himself anywhere, anytime. If he accidentally fills in the information incorrectly, he can adjust and correct it himself anywhere, anytime, as long as it is within the exam registration period from April 21 to 5:00 p.m. on April 28 without having to go to school.
According to the assessment of many high school leaders, in the past, schools spent a lot of time and human resources supporting students throughout the exam registration period. Many times, students only needed to fill in one wrong piece of information and had to replace the form, fill in the whole thing again from the beginning, which was both costly and time-consuming. With the current enrollment support system, if students accidentally fill in a wrong piece of information, they can fix it directly on the system, which is very convenient.
Providing more information about the benefits of applying information technology and digital transformation for learners, Director of the Department of Science, Technology and Information (Ministry of Education and Training) Pham Quang Hung said that from 2023 to present, each year there are about 750,000 policy-entitled final year students who do not have to apply for a local residence certificate to enjoy preferential policies in graduation and enrollment.
Reduce stress, increase transparency
Promoting the application of information technology and digital transformation is identified by the Education and Training sector as one of the tasks, as well as a key and breakthrough solution to continue reducing pressure and costs in terms of time and human resources, and increasing transparency in organizing exams and enrollment.
This year, for the first time, students can use their VNeID identification account to log in to the National Public Service Portal to register for the high school graduation exam and university admission. Thus, in addition to using the student code to log in to the general enrollment support system of the Ministry of Education and Training as in previous years, students have an additional way to register for the graduation exam and university admission. This helps students have an additional channel to accurately look up personal information; student declaration information is saved electronically with specific dates and times, as a basis for comparison when needed and can be accessed anywhere, anytime, making exams and enrollment more transparent and convenient.
With the use of VNeID accounts, from this year, independent candidates (who have not graduated from high school or have graduated from high school before 2024) can also register for university entrance exams online, instead of having to register at the application reception points prescribed by the Department of Education and Training as in previous years.
In Hanoi, for the 2025-2026 school year, the Department of Education and Training continues to direct schools to promote online registration for early grades (preschool, grade 1, grade 6). This form has been implemented for many years with an annual successful registration rate of over 80% - demonstrating the trust and support of parents. In particular, by expanding the online registration form to non-public schools, Hanoi has fundamentally resolved the phenomenon of parents lining up from midnight to wait for their turn to submit their applications. Parents no longer have to worry about "losing their place", but can sit at home or anywhere to log in to the system to submit their children's applications.
According to Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training Tran The Cuong, online enrollment is a solution that the city has maintained for many years, supported by parents because it increases transparency and fairness. In the 2025-2026 school year, the Department will continue to resolutely direct and implement online enrollment for all primary grades, especially for non-public schools, to ensure that all families of students, regardless of their wishes to attend any school, can register for online enrollment.
