Vietnam team finalizes schedule to play Malaysia

After the 5-0 win over Laos, the Vietnamese team ended the FIFA Days training session in March. On March 26, the players returned to their clubs to prepare for the National Cup and LPBank V-League 2024/25.

According to the plan, coach Kim Sang Sik and his team will gather again on May 26 in Hanoi (after round 24 of V-League). This is the most important training session in 2025 because the Vietnamese team will visit Malaysia, the second match of Group F, the final qualifying round of the 2027 Asian Cup.

The result of this match will have a huge impact on the race for the only ticket to the 2027 Asian Cup finals in Group F. The first leg between Vietnam and Malaysia will take place on June 10 away, then the two teams will play again on March 31, 2026 in Vietnam.

Regarding the squad, in addition to the players who were just called up to the Vietnam national team in the match against Laos, coach Kim Sang Sik and his colleagues continue to evaluate and look for new players in the V-League and the National Cup. With more than 2 months, the Korean coach hopes to choose the strongest squad that best suits his playing style.

In the upcoming training session, striker Nguyen Xuan Son will not be able to return due to injury, while another naturalized player, Jason Quang Vinh, may be given a chance by coach Kim Sang Sik. If Jason Quang Vinh joins the national team, the left wing position of the Vietnamese team will be very competitive.
