The 53-year-old strategist has a Pro Coaching License from AFC/KFA and played for the Korean U23 team. Mr. Jong has extensive coaching experience, especially with women's football.

He was the coach of the Korean U20 women's team (2012-2018), head coach of Incheon Hyundai Steel Red Angels (WK League) and head coach of Hanoi women's football club (2021-2022).

His notable achievement was leading Incheon Hyundai Steel Red Angels to win the Women K-League in his first year in charge in 2020.

In addition, he participated in the Youth World Cup with the Korean U20 women's team twice, passing the group stage and reaching the quarter-finals in 2012 and 2014.
