At the program, delegates observed a minute of silence to commemorate the heroic Vietnamese mothers, heroic martyrs, President Ho Chi Minh and General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong - the lifelong leader for the country and the people.
Speaking at the ceremony, Secretary of the Hanoi Youth Union Chu Hong Minh expressed his sincere gratitude and gratitude for the sacrifices of cadres, soldiers and youth volunteers.
According to the Secretary of the Hanoi Youth Union, today's young generation always remembers and engraves in their hearts the noble sacrifices of the heroic Vietnamese Mothers and heroic martyrs. With their deep respect and gratitude, the Capital Youth has recently carried out many practical activities to express their pride and uphold the nation's fine morality of "When drinking water, remember its source, and repay kindness" through many practical works and tasks on the occasion of the 77th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day such as: implementing the restoration of martyrs' photos; organizing a gratitude journey, organizing "Meals of gratitude with Mother"; organizing visits, giving gifts, giving savings books, building and repairing houses of gratitude; providing free medical examinations and medicine to wounded soldiers, relatives of martyrs' families, former youth volunteers, and families with meritorious services to the revolution; taking care of and preserving memorial works and martyrs' cemeteries across the country...
Along with visiting, giving gifts and performing youth work, the affiliated Youth Unions also solemnly organized candle lighting ceremonies to pay tribute to heroic martyrs at cemeteries and memorials of heroic martyrs in 30 districts, towns and cities in the city.
At the ceremony, the Hanoi Youth Union solemnly held a candle lighting ceremony to pay tribute to heroic martyrs at the Hanoi Martyrs Cemetery (No. 70, Tay Tuu Ward, Bac Tu Liem District, Hanoi), the resting place of 2,195 outstanding children of the capital and the nation who heroically sacrificed their lives in the country's resistance wars and in peacetime.
At the same time, Tuoi Tre Thu Do and delegates attending the program presented 143 gifts to policy families, wounded soldiers, and families with revolutionary contributions (each gift included 1 million VND in cash and gifts), the total value of gifts at the program was nearly 200 million VND.
In particular, at the program, the Organizing Committee presented 77 restored martyrs' portraits to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, martyrs' families, and families with revolutionary contributions in Hanoi.
Previously, to practically celebrate the 77th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day, the 60th anniversary of the Three Ready Movement, the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital, the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army; at the same time, to express the affection and gratitude of the youth of the capital for the heroic martyrs who heroically sacrificed to protect the Fatherland, build the independence and freedom of the nation, the Standing Committee of the Hanoi Youth Union implemented the Project of Restoring Martyrs' Photos to present to the families of martyrs, families with meritorious services to the revolution, and families of Vietnamese Heroic Mothers in Hanoi in 2024. The project is part of the youth journey "Carrying on the fire of tradition - Contributing to the future".
