Youth join forces to patrol against drugs and social evils

Secretary of the Central Youth Union Nguyen Minh Triet, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Ho Hai, Head of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission Nguyen Manh Cuong and Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union Ngo Minh Hai attended the program.

Mr. Nguyen Minh Triet said that the Central Youth Union Secretariat hopes that this will be an opportunity for Youth Union chapters at all levels and young people nationwide to strongly promote the spirit of volunteerism to join hands in repelling drugs.

"We agree that this is a job that must be done regularly and without stopping. Currently, the Central Youth Union Secretariat is developing and will issue a plan to implement a drug prevention program among young people until 2030," said Mr. Triet.

In particular, two projects "Strengthening communication work on drug prevention among youth" and "Deploying youth volunteer teams to participate in drug prevention at the grassroots level" will be implemented.

Communicate more online

Among the tasks that need to be focused on, the Central Youth Union suggested that in the coming time, the grassroots need to increase propaganda, especially in cyberspace.

Accordingly, it is necessary to educate and raise awareness, knowledge and skills for the Youth Union cadres, members and youth about the harmful effects of drugs and drug prevention. At the same time, share and spread propaganda products on drug prevention.

Mr. Triet hopes that the press and publishing agencies of the Union will invest in producing multimedia press products and publishing publications on drug prevention for young people.

Thereby, promptly introducing good examples and good models in the work of preventing crimes and social evils.

The Youth Union actively coordinates with functional forces to propagate, educate, disseminate and equip knowledge for Youth Union officials, members and youth.

Regularly grasp information, coordinate monitoring, management, and help prevent relapse. Establish and maintain a youth volunteer team to prevent drug addiction. Support post-rehab youth to reintegrate into the community, help create jobs for reformed youth and post-rehab youth.

Mobilize union members and youth to report information related to drugs. Organize teachers, students, and university students to register to participate in the "3 no" movement (no testing, no keeping, no using drugs).

On this occasion, the program gave gifts to 10 workers in difficult circumstances and 10 young progressive people.

The City Youth Union and the Ho Chi Minh City Police Youth Union joined forces to respond to the peak period of drug prevention and control activities, marching to propagate drug prevention and control.

At the same time, the "People's Patrol Team" was launched in Binh Chanh district (HCMC) to participate in the patrol to prevent drugs and social evils.
