Agribank Lao Cai Youth Volunteers for the Community

“Where there is a need, there is youth; where there is difficulty, there is youth.” This call is being effectively promoted by the youth of Agribank Lao Cai. Newly built houses of gratitude, meaningful gifts given to the poor, timely capital coming to people in difficult times…, all clearly demonstrate the spirit of mutual love and social responsibility of the youth of Agribank Lao Cai joining hands for the community.

One of the highlights of the Agribank Lao Cai Youth Union in 2024 is a series of extensive volunteer activities, demonstrating the spirit of mutual love and social responsibility of young people in accompanying compatriots affected by storm No. 3.

During the devastating floods in September 2024, many localities in the province suffered serious damage to people and property... Agribank Lao Cai youth volunteer teams quickly arrived in areas affected by flash floods and landslides to help people clean up roads and houses, prevent epidemics; participated in transporting food and provisions to support people in isolated areas...

Mr. Pham Quang Huy, Secretary of the Youth Union of Agribank Lao Cai said: Thanks to the cooperation of union members, young people and benefactors, we have donated many essential necessities to help people overcome the consequences of storms and floods, such as: food, medicine, essential household items, with a total value of nearly 100 million VND.

In particular, at the end of December 2024, the Lao Cai Agribank Youth Union coordinated with the Lao Cai Provincial Youth Union to start the construction of the "Warm House for the People" project for 5 families in difficult circumstances, severely affected by storm No. 3 in Nghia Do commune, Bao Yen district; in which Agribank youth union members donated 500 million VND. After 2 months of construction, 5 houses were handed over to the families to live in in time to celebrate the happy Lunar New Year.

Not only in storms and floods, every year, Agribank Lao Cai youth carry out many meaningful activities, such as participating in humanitarian blood donation, planting trees to protect the environment with the message "Agribank for a green future - more trees, more life" in many localities; building playgrounds for students in many disadvantaged schools...

With a large number, 138 Agribank Lao Cai union members are always the core force, pioneers in the emulation movements launched by the unit. Notably, union members and young people in charge of credit work go to remote and mountainous areas to guide the loan process and procedures and provide credit service advice, helping people borrow capital conveniently to develop production. Through that, it helps people change their thinking and working methods, proactively access appropriate loans from banks to develop the economy, create a stable source of income, and strive to get rich quickly and sustainably.

In particular, taking advantage of the available information technology, the Lao Cai Agribank Youth Union established a "Digital Technology Team" to support customers in more convenient credit transactions using modern technology. Accordingly, assigning union members to work outside of administrative working hours at the branch headquarters to support customers in "biometric authentication", opening accounts, opening payment cards and installing the Agribank Plus e-banking application. In addition, strengthening propaganda and guidance on non-cash payments, skills in using safe banking services... Promoting the programs "Agribank - Accompanying new students"; "Supporting to school", "Supporting exam season"... to advise, introduce jobs, support young people in starting a business...

In recognition of its positive and effective contributions to the people and community, the Lao Cai Agribank Youth Union has been recognized by superiors for many years for its outstanding achievements in the work of the Youth Union and youth movements; many individuals have been awarded certificates of merit by the Provincial Business Bloc Youth Union, Lao Cai Provincial Youth Union and the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.
