Exciting Binh Thuan Tourism Week 2024

Phan Thiet hotpot dish has just been honored to be recognized as Asian Specialty by the Asian Record Organization.

Binh Thuan Tourism Week 2024 took place from October 24 to 27 at NovaWorld Phan Thiet Square, Tien Thanh Commune (Phan Thiet City) and has just ended, leaving many impressions on visitors.

As part of the 29th anniversary of tourism, Binh Thuan province has just organized a delicious food contest with the participation of 21 teams from restaurants, hotels, and resorts inside and outside the province.

Using specialty ingredients from Binh Thuan province, dozens of chefs showed off their skills in 120 minutes, including appetizers and main courses. The dishes were accompanied by explanations, presentations, and introductions about the ingredients and preparation process.

After a competition, the organizers awarded prizes to the chefs with the winning dishes.

On this occasion, the Binh Thuan Professional Chefs Association also introduced and performed the "giant" Phan Thiet hotpot dish ever.

At the same time, the Organizing Committee invited 100 diners to enjoy the event. This event was announced by the Vietnam Record Institute and awarded an Asian Record certificate for Phan Thiet hotpot dish.

This is a famous local dish, originating from the rustic meals of the people of Mui Ne - Phan Thiet coastal area. The reason for its name is that in the past, fishermen often put the products they found from the sea into a pot, then poured water in and cooked it into a hot pot.

Gradually, hotpot has been upgraded to a local specialty, attracting tourists to enjoy. The dish has the fresh taste of fish, the fatty taste of meat and vegetables mixed with a thick, fragrant dipping sauce.

Stimulate cooperation to develop tourism

Within the framework of the tourism week, Dong Nai province organized a conference to promote local tourism in Binh Thuan. This is one of the activities to celebrate the anniversary of the tourism industry of Binh Thuan province.

Ms. Le Thi Loan, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dong Nai province, said that the locality is a key economic zone in the South. When mentioning Dong Nai, everyone thinks of an industrial province.

However, in addition to its industrial strengths, Dong Nai is also blessed with many landscapes, forest ecosystems, rivers and lakes to develop tourism.

The Phan Thiet - Dau Giay Expressway opens to traffic, facilitating trade connections between Dong Nai and other localities, especially Binh Thuan. The completion of many other major transport projects in the future will create great momentum for Dong Nai to take off.

"The favorable traffic conditions and famous landmarks as above are great potential for Dong Nai province to develop tourism and connect with neighboring localities," Ms. Loan informed.

At the conference, Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa, Chairman of Binh Thuan Province Tourism Association, said that Dong Nai is a big market for the tourism industry. Dong Nai has many industrial parks and abundant domestic and foreign labor resources. Binh Thuan has the advantage of beach resorts, while Dong Nai has an ecosystem of forests, rivers and lakes.

Mr. Khoa said that this is a favorable condition for the two provinces to connect, creating more products for tourists to explore and relax.

According to travel agencies, tourism products of the two provinces are different, so it is easy to connect to increase products for tourists. Tourists can swim in the sea, enjoy seafood in Binh Thuan, then explore the amazing nature and enjoy fruit gardens in Dong Nai.

Mr. Bui The Nhan, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Binh Thuan province, said that in the coming time, the two localities will have many opportunities to connect, bringing the tourism industry to more diverse development.

"Travel and accommodation businesses and tourism associations of the two provinces should develop more specific programs to increase tourism products for mutual development," Mr. Nhan informed.

As part of the tourism activities, the Organizing Committee arranged spaces to display, introduce and promote tourism products, culture, gifts and typical cuisine of Binh Thuan.

The fair space is expected to have about 60 - 100 booths displaying, introducing and promoting tourism products, trade, services, souvenirs, OCOP products, and cuisine from regions across the country.
